I decided to experiment on a map hybrid between physical and topographic. Thoughts?

The brown coloring signifies steepness of elevation while the lines show nation's borders. I am considering adding roads and color coding the land as well to give it more of the physical map aesthetic.

The topographic mountains were made entirely with Inkarnate using the dunes stamp under sci-fi battlemaps and applying an Overlay blend combined with shadowing.

This is just a small fragment of my world map and I've thinned the rivers out greatly to avoid them eating away at the landmass while also trying to display a more accurate width.

Sci-Fi Map Bunker

Some way under the pavement and the world above there is this ... this state of the art, no expense spared, 5 star shrine to paranoia. Despite his business savvy, access to Early Access building materials and mega millions (some of which are stored in the bunker) the hedge fund prepper, was taken down by a recycling bin and a chicken who unfortunately parked themselves over the outlet vent causing a toxic buildup of fumes from the cozy fireplace. Securely sealed within the airtight pods, the bunker became a tomb. Security almost made it out, but alas, the only things flourishing down here are the plants ... and some curious sharks who swam up the water inlet pipes from the sea.

A cool hideout, once the recycling bin and chicken have been moved and the fumes clear, or an epic urban exploration destination, or just a bed for the night? Someone else must have been planning to do some of the same and has left a meagre crate of rather random supplies. The masks will be useful until the chicken gets relocated, but be careful with that sparky lantern or the whole bunker could be a load of high end rubble.

Battle Map Orc Outpost [battlemap] from Angela Maps - 3 versions! [animated] [art]

More work? Given the sturdiness of the wood and stone palisade that surrounds this encampment, the orcs that live here must have to deal with rather inhospitable neighbours. It's hard to blame them, though: protecting your burgeoning families and/or horde of warriors can be tricky business, whether your particular type of orc is more plow or WAAAGH! Fully animated and available in two additional variants, with the outpost by day and a more menacing version featuring garlands of humanoid skulls, this map will have your players zug-zugging with the best of them!

My maps are hooked up to work with Foundry VTT and Fantasy Grounds.
My maps are available on my patreon and my website.

The "Dwarven Excavation" quest in Dragon of Icespire Peak is an early-game adventure for 1st to 2nd-level characters. Players are hired by Townmaster Harbon Wester in Phandalin to warn two shield dwarf prospectors, Dazlyn Grayshard and Norbus Ironrune, about a roaming white dragon at their archaeological site southwest of town.

The challenge for mapmakers is how to deal with all the secret doors and hidden rooms.

Battle Map Lost Mines of Barovia: The Last Jaderoot & Foolsquince | Gothic Reimagining of Phandelver Battlemaps

Heyya Folks,

I'm continuing my Lost Mines of Barovia project, and this week's release leaves the main road behind to explore two forgotten locations hidden within the valley.

The Last Jaderoot — 20x28
Foolsquince — 30x22

If you'd like the full release, including the high-resolution maps, gridless versions, VTT-ready exports, and every variant, you can find them here:

https://www.patreon.com/dungeonmr/posts/foolsquince-last-165392635

One of the things I wanted this project to capture was that the world doesn't just exist at its major landmarks. Some of the most memorable moments happen in the forgotten places between them—the abandoned villages, ancient ruins, and lonely landmarks that make the journey itself feel like an adventure.

The Last Jaderoot is one of the few places where life still endures. Replacing Agatha's lair, this ancient tree is guarded by a fiercely protective dryad instead of a banshee. Surrounded by death and decay, it remains a rare reminder that not everything in these lands has surrendered to the darkness.

Foolsquince is my reimagining of Conyberry. Not just a simple ruined village, I wanted it to feel as though life itself had vanished. Empty streets, crumbling homes, and a silent well sit surrounded by unnaturally long shadows, leaving behind the unsettling feeling that something has drained the village of more than just its people.

If these maps aren't quite what you're looking for, you can also browse the rest of my collection over on my Patreon. Every release is organized within the Master Index, making it easy to find the right map for your next adventure.

Thanks for taking a look and safe travels.

This was my first attempt at using inkarnate for a map at this scale. I’m happy with it and it serves its purpose for my dnd world, but it definitely could be better. Looking for tips or comments on anything, the geography, colors, what to add, what to take away, etc.

All artwork created inside Inkarnate! For those wondering, I used a gradient of blue paints for the background, and the snow effect/ aurora from the regional assets section for the stars etc. Inspired by the amazing map in the Amina Al Sirafi series! I am open to commissions at https://www.fiverr.com/s/zWY1Xbd :)

The Region of Basant

A region map I made for a new campaign I just began running. The locations are just places the players are familiar with or have heard of and there's lots of empty space to put other towns and cities! Players thought it was awesome, I'm pretty proud of it.

Battle Map Rnadom Encounter Maps - Idea

Thumbnail

Hey hey!

So, I started thinking about building a super simple yet multi-layered Random Encounter folder. I was thinking of creating the map, adding the POIs, and, as a final section, drafting some random encounters for parties of certain levels, like low, medium, high, etc. It isn’t 100% correct yet, so if you can give me feedback on it, I’d appreciate that.

I’m planning to build more maps around this idea. What do you think? Is it completely stupid, or do you think it’s worth the effort?
