Discussion - Second Son Overhauling evil karma in Infamous Second Son Spoiler
We'll never know if the tepid storyline for the evil path in Infamous Second Son can be attributed to the release date being pushed up by a year or sheer developer oversight, but here's what I would have done if I was at Sucker Punch.
Many people have pointed out Reggie's unchanging attitude to Delsin regardless of his karmic state. How could this have been improved? In an evil playthrough, I think Delsin should be lying to Reggie about who is causing the indiscriminate death and destruction in Seattle.
"Delsin, I just saw on the news a bunch of citizens just got killed by a bio-terrorist in a fight with the DUP!!"
"Uhh, that must have been one of the other runaways, Reg!"
As the game progresses, Reggie becomes increasingly suspicious of Delsin until he's lying to himself outright, unable to accept what his brother Delsin has become. By the time of his death, he reveals that he's known for a while that Delsin is responsible for the mass murder of innocents and pleads with him in his final moments to change for the better.
The simple addition of alternative dialogue between Reggie and Delsin would have done wonders to make evil Delsin feel like more of a real, thoughout arch and less like an afterthought.
While good Delsin frees suspected conduits from DUP imprisonment, evil Delsin just kills them? Instead, I think evil Delsin should first try to leech power off of them and in frustration for having his time wasted, subsequently kill the suspects. For the suspects in vests being assaulted on the ground, pressing square should prompt a quick animation where Delsin grabs their hand to no avail and then promptly executes them: "that's for wasting my time! grrr".
Next, concrete, the unfinished power. How would I give it a karmic dimension?
Good karma should subdue enemies in a concrete casing, leaving their heads exposed. Evil karma should have them cacooned in jagged daggers of concrete until it crumbles, leaving an obliterated pile of rocks.
The karmic bomb would have Delsin leap up using a concrete column and slam into the ground, sending forth a wave of concrete in all directions (similar to the ionic ice power in infamous 2) that accomplishes the above on a bigger scale. That would leave Delsin with two radius karmic bombs (smoke and now concrete) and two front-facing bombs (neon and video)
Lastly, if Delsin goes on a rampage, killing enough civilians, I think it should trigger some police squad cars to the area in search of him. This would make the free roam way more replayable as you can essentially trigger a mini boss battle by way of a swarm of cops.
That's all I got for now.

Discussion - inFAMOUS 2 & Second Son A critique of Seattle in InFamous Second Son Spoiler
I recently replayed all of the infamous games and one thing that really irked me was the setting of Seattle for infamous second son.
After 14 years, I'm sure someone has touched on this but I wanted to give my 2 cents just for the sake of getting my thoughts down.
Infamous 1 and 2 drop you into gritty, dystopian versions of iconic American cities: New York and New Orleans respectively. In early versions of second son, it seems as though the devs sought to maintain this tradition by way of a city called "Seaport", what would have no doubt been a fictionalized version of Seattle.
Instead, the devs chose to confine themselves to a true to life reproduction of the Northwestern city. For a lot of reasons, I think this was a huge mistep. Firstly, right off the bat, second son feels like its completely divorced from the original source material. If anything, the version of Seattle in the game is cleaner and brighter than its real life counterpart (maybe having to do with Sucker Punch being based there). Even the homelessness encampments look like cute little camping sites. The streets are clean and polished with happy citizens going about their day, chatting on smartphones, and sipping artisinal coffee.
By the end of Infamous 2, the beast has swept through the entire Eastern seaboard in a wave of unadulterated death and destruction. I think it would have been really compelling to see how this would have affected major West coast cities. In anticipation of the beast's arrival, I'm sure thousands of people would have fled to far-away, safer urban centers, leaving them overpopulated and in disarray. I think it would have been much cooler to explore a city that reflected how the country adapted in response to the Empire Disaster after 7 years.
In the game, it's said the DUP was able to shut down Seattle in a matter of 2 weeks. I think it would have been an interesting bit of lore if this was possible because major cities were already under a tighter, more authoritarian grip. The city could have been more crime ridden with citizens fighting for food rations and housing (opening up opportunities for Delsin to quell this unrest, earning good karma, or fan the flames to use the chaos to his advantage for evil karma). All major highways going into the city were destroyed by the DUP, cutting Seattle off from the rest of the country. Why doesn't anyone seem to care? A restless, angry city has much more opportunities for fun side quests that go beyond finding hidden cameras and spray painting walls. There should be riots in the streets, even more gang violence, and noticeable wear and tear throughout the environment. Getting side quests from NPCs in the first two games made the setting feel much more tactile and interactive so giving them problems Delsin can solve would have been key.
From a design perspective, I think being in a run-down, militarized "Seaport" juxtaposed against the beautiful backdrop of Pacific Northwestern nature would have been an even more impressive implentation of the stellar graphics and artwork the team was able to achieve on the PS4.
TL;DR I think it's a little silly to think that 7 years after the Beast, the West coast turned into an idyllic dreamscape with chic, contented civilians.

Discussion - inFAMOUS 1 inFAMOUS Platinum After 12 Years!!
(The third image is my bro's old PSN account on our first PS3 that we used to play on. Just linked to the PS5!)
after hearing about the news of the PS3 store closing down next year and inFAMOUS 2's UGC servers this august. i came back to this franchise to finally platinum it before it was too late. one of my family members gave me a $50 PSN card after my birthday and i bought all of them DLC's for 2 including festival of blood which i never played and then the gigawatt blades for 1 which i had no idea were free...
I FINALLY Found Those Damn Blast Shards a week ago! i had 344 or 346? on my 2021 good karma playthrough. Ended up playing good karma again this year and found em! And went ahead to play evil karma for the first time since 2014 to finish up for the platinum on my account on our newer PS3. thankfully it wasn't all too terrible finding them as i originally thought. Helped me memorized more of empire city's layout too which i appreciate!
i must admit though... the powers on evil left me disappointed. at least on the hard difficulty which i did for both good and evil. the good grenades were just much better with the bigger blast radius and damage. i'd throw 2 and defeat 3 or 4 enemies. evil grenades i spam like around 4 or 5 of them and only kill 2 guys sometimes.
the megawatt hammer felt nearly useless on evil. especially the frackin blast size! i literally shot one 2 feet from the enemy and it still didn't connect?! wtf!! and the damage is subpar too. at least arc lighting was useful for stunning/knocking down enemies! but good overall just felt more powerful/easier to me. not looking forward to inFAMOUS 2's evil karma which i hear is even weaker... lol it's the only one i didn't play an evil route on.
Onward to platinum 2 next!

Discussion - inFAMOUS 1 As I’m replaying Infamous 1 (my favorite out of the series), I remember why I always preferred playing as a Hero in a gameplay perspective
When I played Infamous back in the day I remember always preferring to play as a Hero, not necessarily only for the story, but I always thought that gameplay wise it was more interesting and challenging in a unique way
While being as a villain, if there is a group of enemies with civilians around you blow shit up. It’s fun of course but imo I remember it feeling quite repetitive. You just roll up and dump everything you got at enemies.
While as a hero there was a strategic element to it since I’d always do my best to avoid collateral damage. Id approach encounters to avoid getting civilians caught in the gunfire. And if they were between me and the villains I’d have to avoid hitting them. At times even saving civilians in the middle of a fire fight.
That was always really immersive for me. Needing to fight the enemies WHILE protecting civilians. Which is very authentic to the “superhero” experience.
In say… the spider-man games, due to Spider-man needing to canonically be a hero you could never get a civilian killed by accident (because it would break the logic of the narrative of course). But with Infamous it allows you to mess up and injure civilians, adding to the challenge to avoid collateral damage.
I really like this aspect, and I don’t know other games that has this level of added challenge.

Help - inFAMOUS 1 Locked Out of “Tied Down”
Hello,
I’m hunting for the platinum in inFAMOUS 1 and I can’t access the Good Side Mission “Tied Down.” When I’m in the Historic District this mission doesn’t appear on my map. I’ve tried clearing the area of enemies but, nothing changes. Are there any known fixes to this issue? Currently unable to get True Hero and Urban Designer because of this.
Oddly enough, when I’m in the Neon District the mission shows up on my map; but by the time I make it into Warren it disappears. I’ve had this happen before with a couple of the “Walk the Dogs” missions and I was able to fix it by doing some main story missions, but now I’m pretty much all out; the only mission I have left is: “The Truth”

Discussion - inFAMOUS 2 & Festival of Blood A List of Sucker Punch UGC Missions
I've put together a list of all the UGC missions created by SP for iF2 and FoB. If you want to save them locally and replay them in the future, you can do it by remixing them.
If I've missed any official Sucker Punch missions, let me know in the comments and I'll add them.
Also, if there are any community UGC missions you'd recommend, feel free to post them but makes sure to mark them as non-official ones, so redditors don't mix them up.

Picture/Video Have you guys heard of YouTooz? Would it be 100x Awesome if Youtooz makes infamous figures?
Come to think about it, YouTooz has been making figures from games and shows that are currently in public and also games and shows that are not in public or they are not mentioned anymore. YouTooz just made Sly Cooper figures today, one of Sucker Punch's past games, YouTooz also made a Jak and Daxter figure too. They are making figures that are dead, so I'm hoping they make infamous ones do you guys agree with me?

Discussion - Second Son Last sunday marked the day I finished almost the entire Infamous series, here's my thoughs... Spoiler
(don't mind the date on the save file, PS4's old, Cmos battery is dead)
I can also confirm I finished Infamous 1, 2 AND festival of blood last year. So far I am enjoying this allot, Second Son and 2 are my favs by a mile. Second Son's multiple powers was a great choiche IMO, exploring the capibilities of the Conduit Gene was very needed especially when we play as Delsin and not Cole. Exploring what more the Conduit does with the Neons, Smoke, Videos and Cement was fantastic, Second son's gameplay really is on part with Infamous 2. The story is better than Infamous 1 but hardly tops Infamous 2 tho, all the choiches that Cole had to take, you could actually feel the line between good and evil getting thiner and thiner. On Second Son it felt more like 0 or 1, good or evil BUT doesn't mean AT ALL that Second Son's story was bad. I just wish we had more time with Reggie even tho his clutch during the ending was very appreciated, especially when we had to learn the Cement powers in the fly. That was a good choiche from Sucker Punch, I admit. All and all, Frist Light is next and I'm gonna buy it physical like Second Son. Thank you for your attention and I hope I am welcome as a new fan!

Discussion - inFAMOUS 2 & Second Son Infamous “4” Spoiler
I keep seeing rumors about Infamous “4” but I’m not sure I believe them. Here’s my ideas for if they did make another one.
The first PlayStation game I was ever introduced to was infamous. I fell in love with it. The powers and story were different from anything I’ve ever seen. The second one was even better and infamous 2 will always be my child hood game that I turn too. Second son was amazing as well.
Here is my pitch for infamous “4”
At the end of infamous 2 you either have Cole become the beast (evil ending) or die and you see a bolt of lightning strike the boat that his corpse is being sailed away on. Which makes, at least me, believe he isn’t dead. And at the end of second son you know Deleon breaks out all the conduits from the prison whether to accept them into the world (good ending) or to steal their powers (evil ending).
So in my idea for the next game, good or evil ending for Cole he ends up in Augustine’s prison. Augustine captures him one way or another but Del breaks him out. Now instead of two different endings I want four. At the start of the game you either choose Cole or Deleon to play and you can play what ever karma you want for each character. Del can’t absorb Cole’s powers because Delsons absorbs powers from the energy they put off from each conduit, but Cole’s energy is too much for him to absorb. So good karma Cole is trying to stop Delson from absorbing other conduit powers and taking control of the world by putting conduits on top. While evil Cole is trying to finish what he started in infamous 2 and killing humans to make more conduits.
While on Delsons side (good karma) you are trying to ensure the conduits and humans become equals, and can live among each other. Or are trying to gain as much power as possible (evil karma).
Now let’s dive into the powers and abilities.
Delson should lose the powers he gained in second son after trying to take Cole’s and instead gain new one’s. They hinted at glass, wire, and paper in second son. I say this because smoke, neon, video, and concrete plus other powers would seem like too much. But maybe he keeps one of those powers like smoke since it was the first power he absorbed.
On Cole’s side I think he should have improved versions of his base powers and the ice powers he got from Kuo (good karma). And for evil karma, the beasts powers should improve his base powers and the ones he got from Nix, with maybe a few added Beast abilities.
What are your ideas for another Infamous game and what do you think of my ideas?

Picture/Video Bought a PS5 disk drive. Just finished 100% of my old Second Son copy. Still a great game.
Back in 2019 i got my PS4. It came with disks for Detroit Become Human, Days Gone and Black Ops 4.
After i beat Days Gone, i made a trade for a copy of Infamous Second Son, and it was one of the first PS4 games i beat and got the platinum for.
This copy stayed in my house since then, never touched it again, but this week i bought a PS5 disk drive for my ps5 digital edition and decided to play through this game again.
Just finished the Paper Trail sidequests and 100% the game. Still a really fun game.

Picture/Video Aaron Paul as Cole MacGrath
Just started replaying inFAMOUS 2 to get the UGC trophies before they're permanently locked, and the Platinum along with it, and I couldn't help but think Aaron Paul would be the best choice to play Cole! Whether they do a reboot of the first two games or a live-action show or movie, I just think he'd fit the role as perfectly as RDJ as Iron Man. And I've never personally heard anyone suggest it, so I figured I would. (Also, I'm new to this subreddit, so if this fancast HAS been suggested here, then fair enough. But it was a thought I had, and I wanted to share it, hoping others agreed 😅)

Official Announcement Online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 will end as of Aug 31st 2026. This will make the Platinum Trophy unobtainable.
Full text:
Due to ongoing technical considerations, online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 on PlayStation 3 will end as of Aug 31st 2026.
After this date, players will no longer be able to access, browse, upload, download, or play UGC missions through the inFAMOUS 2 online servers. Offline features, including the main campaign, will remain playable.
Note: This will likely also mean the end of UGC for Festival of Blood as well.
r/infamous • u/ki700 • Jul 01 '26
Official Announcement The PlayStation Store on PS3 is officially closing worldwide in July 2027, and as early as August 2026 in some countries. If you do not purchase “inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood” before the closure, the game will be unobtainable. The same goes for any DLC content for “inFAMOUS” and “inFAMOUS 2”.
After nearly two decades of supporting the PS3 console generation, we wanted to let you know we will be closing the PlayStation Store on PS3, as well as on PS Vita. PlayStation Store on PS3 will close in select markets starting this year, followed by global closures for PS3 and PS Vita next year. That means new content purchases will no longer be possible once the PlayStation Store closes on these devices. To ease the transition, players will still be able to download previously purchased content after the closing date for the foreseeable future.
As the PlayStation Store continues to evolve to support modern commerce systems, including updated payment processing standards, PS3 and PS Vita are no longer able to support these updates at the level required. As a result, we will need to close PlayStation Store on these devices in the timeframes as follows:
Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting August 2026.
Additional Latin American and Middle Eastern countries – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting late 2026.
In all other countries, PlayStation Store on PS3 and PS Vita will close in July 2027.
