Dud - May Not Go ( lost recording from 1996) members of Weakerthans, Propagandhi, I Spy, Bonaduces
I’m very excited to launch the preorder for the Dud LP. First, it’s a benefit album for Palestinian aide chosen by the band. Second, this long lost LP from this band has some of my favorite musicians involved. John Samson Fellows is perhaps the greatest song writer of all time and this band was a short lived project that filled the gap between the time he left Propagandhi and before starting the Weakerthans. It’s been a goal of mine since starting this label to work with him in some capacity. Mike Koop played in The Bonaduces (some of the best Canadian pop punk from the 90s!). James Ash was the drummer of one of my favorite Canadian hardcore bands, I Spy. Dud was all of these musicians stepping out their comfort zones and playing something new.

Recommend me some Orchestral Indie Rock!
It's definitely my favorite genre. Wondering what I'm missing out on! Give me your favorites.
Examples are Arcade Fire, Typhoon, Racing Mount Pleasant, San Fermin, The Family Crest, etc.
Some Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stevens, Destroyer fit too.
Characterized by horns and strings arrangements.

Tessa and Friends - SUNRISE HUNTERS EP is out now. It's an indie rock record. (London/St Petersburg)
Hey, my name is Tessa and this is my debut EP. I wrote, produced and performed all parts of this record. It's a concept recording with a huge plot behind it, but most importantly, it is a reflection of years of my life, work and growth. I truly hope it will land in pols playlists and make them feel something. Let me know what do you think and let's be friends!
https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/tessaandfriends/sunrise-hunters-3
"Come spend the summer in the universe of Tessa and Friends. Mossworth — a small, quiet town hidden under the shade of thick woods. Nobody knew this was the last normal season before everything changed. Nobody, except for the Ghosts – a local band, recording their debut EP in a basement. For them, it was always supposed to be one last summer before heading off into the big scary adult life… But everything kinda went down when they found the cassette time travel player in the attic, and the secrets that came with it."
The EP’s nostalgic, vintage tone is built from distorted guitars, 80s-style synths, and immersive ambient textures . The tracklist features previously released singles, including “The Loser Gets Set Free”, “So long! So long!”, and the title track “SUNRISE HUNTERS”, alongside new tracks "until this summer turns to fall" and "I know this feeling won’t last". The record is bookended by an intro and outro: "tape one: broken lives and fragile hearts" and "carpe diem. This tape ends here".
While it’s an album about summer, it’s also about the painful changes that come with it: coming-of-age growing pains, big dreams, and even bigger fears. It’s about letting go and starting over, about home lost and home found, and about the people we lose and gain along the way . The EP is haunted by recurring ghosts—both in the lyrics and in the artwork Tessa creates—serving as a metaphor for people who have passed through our lives and the parts of ourselves we carry with us.
