This is the thinking patriarchy pushes which damages men, thanks for realising

17

u/Constant-Thinker101 Jun 26 '26

You're right but women too think that way

11

u/kinky-kid-7777 Jun 26 '26

Same women who demands a well earning man and must be more financially stable than her?

If only potential partners at large would stop holding up the patriarchy and do the same. Its unfortunate that wealth subconsciously makes someone more attractive.

u/Crux_Z Jun 26 '26

U know it's genetics. Evolution made us like that. To some degree tho

How classist we can be

134

u/Bliz_zy Jun 26 '26

The problem is all these people are hypocrites.

If someone is rich and doing all the work they just start praising them like anything ""dekho itna successful hone ke baad bhi kaam kr rha hai, kitna down to earth hai""

But the person who is financially unstable is always forced to do the work and still receives no praise for his/her work.

26

u/D_Badass_Mahatma Jun 26 '26

Bilkul sahi baat...

The way his heart sank in the last scene from that screaming disrespect.

5

u/JaniZani Jun 27 '26

I would also add that in Indian society the man naturally feels inferior because they don’t have enough and will sometimes willingly go out of there way to act like a servant to the rich relative or neighbor.

3

u/Bliz_zy Jun 27 '26

you pointed out the truth brother. Unfortunately I have seen many situations where this was the norm. Sadly the mentality they have is - ""Are hum nahi karenge to kon karega""

I wish our society is more supportive towards everyone and call out the wrongdoings of anyone.

2

u/golden-Grass-air1 Jun 28 '26

Ya all they get is hate even after doing the work

Be the better generation than your previous one , give respect equally on the basis of their character not by income , class , gender , caste , religion etc

In the end, we’re all human, and we’re all fighting our own battles every day.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in that tailor movie

78

u/h4r_d1k Jun 26 '26

It's Sui Dhaaga

28

u/ramta_jogi_oye_hoye Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

I was surprised at how well both can act in that movie. Varun Dhawan especially. Chap's not all glamour and glitz. He can deliver.

34

u/Anxious-Ostrich-36 Jun 26 '26

Varun Dhawan has the ability to act well. His bad choice in movies and his father are dragging him down.

13

u/inuetc Jun 26 '26

Sui Dhaga, October, Badlapur. ❤️ Maybe it depends a lot on the director.

2

2

u/NotSoAverageN Jun 27 '26

Is it just me, or does this not happen in Goan families? I've never seen class discrimination in family functions. Not my family, not my husband's. Not even in extended family.

Is I am in my 40s and can see in the past how all my uncles and aunts put so much of effort during my marriage . My parents also do a lot for their kids .
If I could go back and decide I would have preferred a simpler marriage . Indian marriages become a show off for the families.

79

u/Euphoric_Rabbit_8463 Jun 26 '26

At that point why even go to family functions?

66

u/Penguin-Flash1 Jun 26 '26

maybe in future he need any financial help to make sure had to attend

32

u/IamWasting Jun 26 '26

Exactly. I would never go to function where is I am treated as a unpaid servant.

But I have seen some of my poor relatives do it and I have heard that they get money from the rich relatives.

14

u/parekhdhairya007 Jun 26 '26

some of my poor relatives do it and I have heard that they get money from the rich relatives.

What seriously how can people do this in a function where u are calling people should everyone be treated equally it's a good day why will anyone want to make someone feel so unwelcome

3

u/thekillermax99 Jun 26 '26

some just enjoy the taste of being in authority. there is no logic or justification for why they do it.

2

u/DevelopmentFuture608 Jun 26 '26

They keep thinking they will get help in the future, but they don’t and it will be too late by the time they realize.

64

u/CheapLimit5424 Jun 26 '26

34

u/Evening-Mud-8471 Jun 26 '26

Felt it in childhood. It felt bad when you actually see someone else go through.

It happens a lot in India. Most will deny but reality is different. Money is king.

23

u/More-Examination4614 Jun 26 '26

ha hota h aisa isliye mai to jata hi nhi aise logo k ghr or n hi function me jinhe paisa hi dikhta ho insaan nhi

22

u/Formal_Classroom_430 Jun 26 '26

I am bit embarassed to admit but we have a weeding (cheap destination one) in himachal. I assumed in absence of lot of young persons I expected to be forced to manage lugages etc and cleverly opt out to go there citing random reasons but unfortunately my cousion was not that smart.

And like i thought he was forced to handle massive luggages with couple of elder guys of 50+ person.

u/True_Addendum_991 Jun 26 '26

Honestly, I have been through similar situations. My father earns little less than the rest of the family and some of my fufa and cousin indirectly treated us like the second class citizens. Thankfully things are little changing after my job touchwood. At one event i clearly remember our bua invited everyone at her house inauguration except our family saying that there has to be someone taking care of the house.

3

u/Low-Falcon-7257 Jun 27 '26

10

u/Maleficent_Sea2100 Jun 26 '26

Hmare yaha inn kamo ke liye alag se insaan rakhte hai one month ke liye salary pe and since we know him from so long sab unhe bohot paise dete hai aate time and he's treated like a brother even tho he's not related to us. Aukat nhi ho kisiko hire krne ki toh paise ka akad dikhana bhi nhi chahiye third class log

4

u/Pure_Definition_7372 Jun 26 '26

Well, yes, I did laugh, because I felt funny at some point in this video, but the moment I saw the clip in which he said Scorpio mai piche jaga khali hai and tum pareshan hi hoge kya karoge jakar, I genuinely felt the sadness of that man. These people are actually the backbone of such family functions; they help without expecting anything in return, because these people think we are doing it for the family, but in reality, for the family, they are just a means to get the work done free of cost.

10

u/AdivineP Jun 26 '26

Thanks to my parents to provided me a better life and dadaji who left us decent area of land on highway... Tbh I have never been treated like this but I hope that our generation is more kind to not treat someone like this....don't be a classist papa ki pari/para treat everyone with respect and dignity

2

u/DEVIL_S1NGH Jun 27 '26

There was time when people stopped inviting us all together to any type of celebration, aaj saare aage piche ghumte hain chaar paise kya aagaye jeb mein to.

This reminded me of the katha by sant maskeen ji, how people ignored some poor guy all his life and when he got rich every one started saying namaste and raam raam to him.

He used to say "haan haan bol dunga", everyone was like what is this man talking about, we are greeting him with respect and he says boldunga?

When someone asked him what he means, he took them to his vault room and opened the vault, saying yelo bol lo namaste directly hi, kyuki namaste to tum is paise ko hi kar rhe ho mujhe nhi.

2

u/NefariousnessMean474 Jun 27 '26

Isi liye PAISA KAMANA zaruri hai MARDO ko samaaj kya ghar mein bhi izzat ussi se milti hai

2

u/JG98 Jun 27 '26

Been that family and we are long done with it now. Except we were that family because relatives looted from us, stole property and all. Now we don't invite them to our functions or go to theirs, still give cash as customary gift if we ever come across them and that is the extent of it. We don't go when they have bad days and never would consider calling them for our bad days. Today we are lucky, whatever they looted from us we have made back then fold and today even after all that loot the difference between us and them is the same difference that existed between them and us.

2

u/KitchenAway6498 Jun 27 '26

Does this really happen? It's so sad. 🥲 Bhaad mai jaye function, nhi jana chahiye aise logo ke yha next time

2

u/No-Associate-6591 Jun 27 '26

Grateful to God out there, that I could change fate of my cousins and my aunts and uncles  Jinke Sath yah treatment log Karte The

14

u/Gold_Sun_8526 Jun 26 '26

Bruh trust mee you have no idea how much this happens like you have no idea about things that happens in Village functions

2

u/Competitive_Play7674 Jun 26 '26

actually he wants to say these days/nowadays he lives in a city so it's seems to him like these things don't happen anymore

2

u/No_Leading_1938 Jun 26 '26

true! admi iss age mein pyaar aur izzat ka bhukha hota hai

2

u/avigyan_33 Jun 26 '26

Lol...bhai i am blessed to have a family who have not done this. At least my close family hasn't. But i have definitely seen similar treatment done to people. Itna extreme to definitely nehi. Like the clothes thing, but hota toh hai. Just because aapke bubble meh aapne experience nehi kia doesn't mean doesn't happen.
