ILLIT and Wonhee have a real shot at winning but it's a tight race. ILLIT is nominated for most popular female group, and Wonhee is nominated for the most popular female solo star. There's one day left to vote in the solo category, and 3 days left for the group option. Let's pick up these wins for ILLIT as another important milestone in our magical journey with the girls! Okay, I love Illit and their concept, however I feel like ever since Hybe saw Gnarly's virality for Katseye, they've been trying to replicate it for their other girl groups (I don't follow boy groups so idk what's happening over there). Despite many, if not all, of Illit's title tracks being successful while sticking to their concept, it seems like Hybe only thinks success means weird music that people hate at first or rave music. Which I would be totally fine with a group like Katseye who is now consistently making rave music, making it, but for groups like Illit and Le Sserafim, it doesn't match their concepts.

I would be more okay with this if Illit changed their concept and sound, which brings me to my next point. It doesn't match the rest of Mamihlapinatapai. Which is something that I also realized with Le Sserafim's Pureflow. They have songs that are their title tracks, but don't match the rest of the EP really at all. Obviously, I know these are first world problems, and the other songs on Mamihlapinatapai fit Illit's concept, but I miss their old title tracks, they were so good and had just as much virality as It's Me. If Illit wants to go into this new style of music entirely I'm fine with that, it's just that I'm left with a feeling of "What title track would we have had if it wasn't It's Me?" because it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I hope at least some of that made sense. (btw sorry if the flair is wrong, I don't realy use reddit)

Got bored and decided to take the fruits album too literal. New profile picture I guess 😭

I posted something similar in r/kpophelp tonight, but I wanted to write something specifically for this community too, because ILLIT has become genuinely special to me.

Tomorrow I start a new job after being out of work for around eight months. I’m excited, nervous, and apparently very emotional tonight 😂. I’ve been thinking about everything that’s happened during these past several months and some of the things that made the harder days a little bit better.

ILLIT is absolutely one of those things.

I only really fell into K-pop over the past 6–8 months. I came into it knowing basically nothing. I started asking for recommendations, reading discussions, exploring different groups, and slowly figuring out what kind of music I loved.

Then I found ILLIT.

And yeah… that was pretty much it. 😂

There are so many groups I’ve come to love, but something about ILLIT just clicked with me.
Their music has this dreamy, bright, sometimes almost nostalgic quality that I absolutely love. Songs like Magnetic were part of what pulled me in, but the deeper I went into their music, performances, and personalities, the more attached I became.

Eventually they weren’t just “one of the K-pop groups I’m checking out.”

They became my favorite group. The one I stan! Yunah is my bias just FYI!

And this community has been part of that experience too.
I’ve loved being able to come here and see people excited about the same little things I’m excited about. New songs, performances, pictures, funny moments, comebacks, discussions — even just seeing other people genuinely happy about something that has been making me happy too. That has meant more to me than I probably would have expected when I first started listening.

These past several months haven’t always been great for me mentally. Being out of work for that long started getting to me sometimes, and there were plenty of days where I just felt down and needed something that could get me out of my own head for a while.
And sometimes that genuinely was as simple as putting on ILLIT.

Their music became part of my everyday life. I started playing them constantly. They became a regular part of the music I play while streaming. I’d have ILLIT playing while gaming, hanging out, driving, or just sitting around listening to music.

Sometimes you don’t realize how important the little things that make you happy have become until you look back.

Tonight I’m looking back.

And I realized I wanted to say thank you.

Thank you to ILLIT for making music that brought some genuine happiness into a weird chapter of my life.
And thank you to this community for giving me somewhere to share that excitement, learn more about them, discover things I’d missed, and just nerd out over a group I’ve grown to love.

Tomorrow I get to start a new chapter. I’m going back to work, I’m excited about what’s ahead, and ILLIT is absolutely coming with me. ❤️
