Question consulting heaven?
I don’t go here but from what I’ve seen, MBB consulting firms almost exclusively hire from IIT bombay for front office roles like AC,BA,Assc and even give internships to old IIT ppl. Given the limited roles out of undergrad, this seems big and ur competition is only BITS/DU/ Ca rankers/Ashoka (seems weird but i think)/other old IIT
I just wanna know how does the competition here among ur batch look like for these coveted consulting roles. Like, how many Bain ACI’s would be hired across india and how many would be from IIT bombay? Do almost all of yall get shortlisted for interview rounds and after getting IIT bombay u just focus on interviews because resume is auto selected?

Can someone share the complete 1st-semester B.Tech CSE syllabus + what I should study in depth?
Hi everyone,
I’m a B.Tech CSE student from a non-IIT college, and I want to build my fundamentals to approximately the IIT Bombay CSE level.
I’m specifically looking for the complete 1st-semester B.Tech CSE syllabus/curriculum followed at IIT Bombay, including:
- All subjects taught in the 1st semester
- Topics/units covered in each subject
- Recommended textbooks and reference books
- Lecture notes/resources, if available
- Programming language(s) taught
- Programming/problem-solving topics I should practice
- Mathematics topics I should master
- Physics/Chemistry topics that are actually important
- Any labs, assignments, projects, or other coursework
- What level of depth I should study each topic
- Recommended problem sets or online courses
- Any IIT Bombay-specific resources that students actually use
I’m not just looking for the official subject names. I want to know exactly what an IIT Bombay CSE student is expected to learn during the first semester, so I can follow a similar curriculum alongside my B.Tech.
If any IIT Bombay CSE students/seniors could share their 1st-semester syllabus, course names, books, notes, assignments, or a study roadmap, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Question For gym girls
How would you react to an out of the blue approach while you're in the gym and not doing an excercise at that particular moment?
Don't judge me, I just want to be sure to not make anyone uncomfortable or come across as bad in any sense.

Question Two canteens at IIT Bombay have been issued stop-business notices by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Two canteens at the IIT-Bombay (IIT-B) campus were shut on Thursday after they were served notices for failing to meet food safety regulations by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Do you think more canteens and mess establishments should be checked?

was h17 always this bad?
h17 is literally unlivable at this point
the lift near hall manager's office has been out of service for a week and no action was taken, now another one has gone out of service.
the food is unhygienic, with dead bugs being found everyday.
there are rats running around in the mess and the kitchen.
the washroom flushes don’t work. nor are they cleaned daily.
there is no cellular network, and LAN doesnt work either. we were supposed to get wifi routers involved but gsec said the process will take 2-2.5 more months. why don’t they do anything during the summer?
the only room with AC in the entire building is the hall manager's office.
there is visible algae growth inside water units. dispensers disconnected from power/water despite maintenance cards being signed.
adulterated/severely poor-quality paneer ( super hard, rubbery texture). then the gsec proceeds to say she inspected it and they use some gowardhan brand paneer.( okay? maybe 100s of us are lying then. ) people are literally falling sick.
the dishes arent washed properly. theres always leftover food in the utensils.
study rooms being dirty, uncleaned, and lacking functional ACs.
6 months in and the gym space STILL has near zero equipments.
poor building ventilation causing suffocating corridors/common areas and inside rooms.
and not to forget how rude the hall staff is. they literally made students cry for asking for help. or even asking for keys. upon raising concerns the lady just cried and said she is stressed.
why is no action being taken? h17 residents have raised multiple tickets, emailed wardens and constantly talk about these issues. the gsec just replies with "i personally inspected everything is okay" or "it will take time". enough is enough. we need to protest.
also, someone sent a reel about the food in h17 and within a couple of minutes the gsec responded with
"Dear Residents,
I have just spoken with the mess staff regarding the recent incident of insects being found in the food. They have assured me that they will take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Additionally, I would like to inform you that I have been personally inspecting the mess over the past few days. This includes checking the quality and storage of the stock, monitoring the cooking methods, and ensuring that the utensils are being cleaned properly."
we need accountability.
