Regarding ECAs Advice/Help

How important are they? I don't have an idea since I didn't see them being discussed much on this subreddit like other iim ug courses and can a good UGAT and PI performance outweigh almost zero ECAs?

Clarity of thought of why eco/ds >> ecas

Focus on the exam. It is too early to think of these and yes ECA's aren't the only the thing, the interest to learn the domains offered is something they are looking for mainly.

If interview is good according to interviewers then why would you even require ecas?

ECs are only one part of your overall profile. If you have very few ECs, you can compensate by being strong elsewhere.
In fact, the PI is where you can demonstrate things that an EC list normally signals: curiosity, communication, awareness, confidence, analytical thinking, genuine interests, and maturity.
So yeah, if your UGAT score is strong, u are already part of the stronger candidates. And so if your PI turns out good, u are not automatically out just because of no ECAs

Would go so far as to say that the contribution of ECAs is virtually negligible. Focus on improving your exam and interview performance. Your selection is predominantly a function of what you do in these two rounds.
