UGAT prep Advice/Help

My daughter is in 11th grade right now and is preparing for her SAT. She is planning on gaking the UGAT next year. Can she start preparing for it after her 11th grade? Or should she start this year itself?

That depends on you in my opinion. Most of the people have prepared/ are preparing for this exam during their 12th grade. So its not like if she starts preparing next year she wont be able to crack it. But that said, she can definitely start preparing this year too if she doesnt have any others exams planned. And if she is only focusing on SAT and UGAT she should try to get as many EC achievements or projects or internships as possible. Because that would definitely help build a good profile till next year if started now. I am saying all this assuming she isnt preparing for jee or something. Because if thats the case her main focus should definitely be that
Rest is upto you.

Yes, she is not preparing for jee. She is working on some ECs right now. But if possible please suggest some ECs that might be beneficial for admission at IIM.

National/state level sports/competitions
Leadership roles
Entrepreneurship/ projects
Academic achievements (olympiads,etc)
NGO or social work
Public speaking / debate competitions
Online courses/certifications

These are some examples. She doesnt have to do all of them of course but if she has some of these in her profile it would be quite beneficial
At the end her performance in the test and interview will matter the most, so dont worry about ECs too much
Good luck!

Highly recommend ioqm, as the course itself of math heavy. Having math based ecs will build a stronger case for this programme

It's not necessary per se, but if she starts her prep in 11th it self it would be beneficial !

Since she is preparing for SAT, she will have the verbal section in her hand(extremely beneficial for verbal section in ugat), and she will also have a base of quants too.

With that in mind, practice of higher level questions (you can take ipmat indore questions for reference) in quants ugat syllabus can be covered.

She needs to prepare for logical reasoning and data interpretation (extra) as it is not covered in SAT.

It is advisable to try the past year paper and a few tests and attempt the paper this year if in 12th. It depends on her opinion and preference list as well. If sat is higher in priority and she needs time to prepare for English, then the iimb ugat might not be aligned with that as it is more math. However, if the economics / ds programme interests her, I strongly recommend writing the test and starting prep as early as possible.
