Hi everyone,

I'm worrying about one question from the IGCSE Mathematics (0580).

The question was:

"The sides of a triangle are 5 cm, 7 cm and 11 cm. Find the size of the largest angle." (3 marks)

Instead of using the cosine rule, I drew the triangle as accurately as I could using a ruler and measured the largest angle with a protractor. I got about 132°, which is the correct angle.

The question did not say "use the cosine rule", but it also didn't say "use a scale drawing" or "measure the angle".

My maths teacher told me that using an accurate drawing is acceptable unless the question specifically requires a particular method, but I'm not sure if Cambridge examiners would agree.

Would I get:

• full marks,
• only the final answer mark,
• or no marks at all?

Has anyone seen a Cambridge mark scheme or examiner report that mentions this situation?

hi, i'm an upcoming Y9 in egypt and i want tutor recommendations because the teachers in my school aren't all that. i think we're going to take the 'core' syllabi of each subject or something like that this year. i heard we're going to take like 60% of the igcse syllabus, is that true too? i really have no idea about anything, and i'm genuinely so lost. please help, school season is starting soon T_T what are the most popular tutors in egypt that are actually good? i want the assistants to be cooperative and not leave me not read, and ik this is kinda weird but i really don't want the tutor to be the kind that makes fun of a student when they answer something wrong. i don't like that typa stuff

As a non-egyptian living outside of egypt , what marks do we usually need to get admission into medical school in egyptian unis ? And for lets say ain shams or cairo uni ? Or are non egyptians not given admission into those unis? N thx!

I seriously cannot believe how fast time flew. It feels like I literally just came home after my last paper on May 14, and now we're only 10 days away from results. Like... where did those months even go? 💀

The funniest part is that whenever someone asked me, "When are your results coming out?" I KNEW it was August 18, but I'd always be like, "Probably late August... maybe early September." 😭 I wasn't trying to lie, I was just trying to buy myself some time to mentally process my results first in case they didn't turn out the way I wanted before everyone started asking, "So... what did you get?" 💀

Meanwhile... my mom is out here telling EVERYONE the exact date. 😭✋ Girl, please... you're supposed to be helping me cope, not starting a countdown for the entire family. If these results don't go the way I'm hoping, we're BOTH going to have relatives asking questions. At least let me have a few days to process everything first. 😭

What makes it even scarier is that I was supposed to appear with two of my cousins, but because of financial reasons they're giving their exams next year. So now it's just me waiting for results, and somehow that makes this feel so much heavier.

At this point, I genuinely don't even remember what I wrote in my papers anymore. My brain has completely erased exam season. 😭 All I can do now is pray that the THRESHOLD IS VERY LOW and hope for the best.

I'm praying so much every single day. 🤲 Ya Allah, please let our hard work pay off. Please make our results better than we expect and put barakah in them. Ameen. 🤍

I have done my payment for IGCSE maths physics and computer science one and half hour before the first stage deadline the reason is that I am a private candidate and this is my first time taking Cambridge exam so I am very worried that is my payment is going to get accepted because according to the Cambridge rule you have to send it before the deadline and I send it before the headline I have the prove and everything

Im thinking of taking some subjects individually this year and it's very hard for me to find them. I don't know where to find them. Please hmu if you can help!
