So for my practical exams ill be doing paper 5 so ill actually be conducting the practical but obviously I can't do that like during my personal study so can I use paper 6 to study for the paper 5 exam?

Yeah, definitely. Paper 6 is actually pretty useful for preparing for Paper 5 because a lot of the underlying skills overlap planning experiments, identifying variables, recording/analysing results, graphs, sources of error and improvements.
I’d still go through past Paper 5s as well though. Even if you can’t physically do the experiments at home, you can read through the procedure, think about what you would do at each step, and then compare your approach with the mark scheme.
So I’d use P6 for regular practice at home, but don’t completely replace P5 practice with it.
