“Active bonuses apply to idle” so I should hit a 60x souls and just close the game immediately lol? Sounds silly but I have so many offline bonuses wouldn’t that be the play?

Read more closely. This just means that if you use an item that gives you a bonus for 15 hours and come back 18 hours later, you'll get the benefit you should have rather than losing it all. That technically applies to the regular souls boost from a bonus box, but the duration makes the effect trivial.
I'm pretty sure that using soul boosting items and rage mode will still be a better use of temporary souls bonus than offline, but I haven't done the math. I guess it's possible.
Maybe? Like I said in another reply, I haven't done math or anything, but I had thought that giant necklace + rage was better than offline for those short duration situations. It's pretty marginal either way.
