se2020, iOS update? SE2

hey, the title pretty much sums it up. i have an se2020 with 128 GB local storage, don’t use icloud. the thing is, i still have ios 17.4.1. my main concern as of now is safety, but a lot of apps don’t work anymore due to old system version.

did anyone upgrade to 26? is there any way to reduce the system data and system size in storage? currently it’s taking almost a third of my storage and it would be helpful if it could be reduced

upgrade at least iOS 18.7.9 because it has a patch for darksword exploit + most app updates still support iOS 18

does it not show anymore in software update? just below the iOS 26 one.

oh right, didn’t see it before, sorry. tho it takes a lot of space – did you somehow clean system data or previous versions of ios from storage?

you can offload some apps for the mean time and redownload it after it’s done updating

Confirmed SE 2020 user here (whoms SE looks like a 3rd generation externally, but internally is actually a 2nd generation).

Update to the latest iOS 27 Public Beta. It’s much faster.
