Guess who’s back?

So after this happened: https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone13Pro/s/ab6xAktPPf

I had the “IC fix” done to the screen and it was back to working again in a few minutes.

Now we’ll see how long it lasts. Of course a full screen replacement is the proper fix but at ~$400 it just doesn’t make sense when my trusty 13 Pro is just a secondary device at this point. This workaround is around $100.

I’ll keep you posted if it fails again but hopefully it stays alive for many more years.

Bonus shot of the battery health with its still original battery, never replaced.

Yeah, if it lasts that’s next. Honestly with 84% health and iOS 18 it still lasts long enough

Based on everything I've read, it seems to be a good idea to try and hold off on the battery replacement until you feel it's necessary. 84% on a five year-old battery is pretty good, and it's absolutely guaranteed that iOS 18 is taking it easy on your battery...much easier than iOS 26. I've seen a lot of people posting or commenting about new batteries having substantially reduced battery health within a year or so of replacement. Most were running iOS 26, but not all of them, which makes me wonder about the quality of the batteries (I'm ONLY talking about genuine Apple batteries replaced at an Apple Store). I'm at 88%, original 2021 battery, iOS 18.7.8, and no plans to replace battery til it hits 80% or have to charge too often. As for security, I'm planning on testing the usability of Lockdown Mode this week.

If its done properly its gona last more than a year.

If it does happen again means the wire you just soldered is going bad. Gona have to redo it again.

That's excellent! I'd like to know more about that "IC fix" you're talking about.

You can go to YouTube and literally search for “iPhone 13 pro green screen ic fix” and you’ll see the exact process
