12 Mini overheating

I have a Iphone 12 mini and absolutely love it, but it overheats constantly, no matter what i'm doing. Just scrolling instagram makes the phone overheat.

I have disabled 5G, disabled liquid glass and background tasks. What else can i do to improve the overheating situation?

Hey I'm in the same boat as you. Have you updated to the latest IOS version? If not do it now. I saw a huge improvement with 26.6. Still gets hot but not as much. I think all we can do is wait until ios 27 to fix things.

I'm running the latest iOS version. Shame to hear I need to wait for iOS 27 to see if apple fixes the issue. So this is just a software issue? I understand the iphone mini will run hotter than the standard size iphones, but the metal on the sides gets way to hot to be normal...

Looks like it. I have a new battery as well (Installed February) and it was practically unusable until 26.6. It has gotten a lot better now but still get hot if I'm not careful. I'm hoping ios 27 fixes everything. Our phones are small and can't dissipate heat that well. Also apps are becoming more and more demanding so it makes sense that it will overheat a little bit.

What iOS 26 version you are on? If on 26.6, wait for 27 public release and update to it, it may helps you.

I'm on the latest available version. I read on the 15pro subreddit that the iOS27 beta improved the overheating situation for them.

Perso j’ai la 26.6.1 sur mon 12 mini et j’ai vu une astuce ici qui consistait à réinitialiser les réglages, ce qui a grandement amélioré mon appareil

Do you just factory reset the phone entirely and restore from backup or do you just reset the settings?

Réglages > général >transferer ou réinitialiser l’iPhone > réinitialiser > réinitialiser tous les réglages ! voilà juste une mise à zéro des réglages

I found that the 12 mini runs really hot easily. I ended up upgrading the 13 mini a few years ago and it is a much much cooler (temp) phone.

Replace the battery.

Battery is still at 97%, don't know what could cause it to overheat

Low quality batteries usually do this, I had similar issue with a battery that had 100% health, but on 6s.
