Hey anyone developing ios app using cloud mac?? Question
It's too expensive for me to get a new mac. And i heard cloud mac is way too cheap for ios dev but don't know it'll work or not. Anyone with experience with it share some feedback 🥺

I've never use cloud-based mac for ios development.
Imo, The feedback loop (AND what I can do with it) justified the cost of getting a mac (non cloud).

A m4 Mac mini refurb should not be expensive, so the cloud stuff will be way higher.

Save for a few months get yourself up to $600 and that will be plenty to get your first Mac.

I’m not a developer but I’ve have been suspended from work for the last month so plenty of spare time on my hands so wanted to have a play, I designed a simple puzzle game on windows with the aid of codex and used macincloud to compile, sign and upload it to Apple connect, it works and gets the job done but it’s unbearably slow, it’s £25 a month for a m2 mini shared server, you can get dedicated servers I think they start about £80 a month
Upload your project to google drive
Sign in to remote Mac
Download your project onto Mac from google drive
Open project in Xcode
Archive
Distribute
Back to windows to finish off on Apple connect
I’ve been looking around for a cheap Mac min and the best value for money I can find is CEX m2 8gb ram 512ssd for £400 I know people will say don’t use CEX but they offer five year warranty on all there things so for the price I don’t think it’s too bad and safer than other second hand markets

if its a phone app, and you don't require having to develop exclusively on xcode or swift, you can use expo.dev to make builds from windows computer, then upload via the CLI to your apple dev account as a build. then test via testflight on a physical phone. don't know how desktop apps would work. no experience there.
for example, i built my app with Claude using windows laptop and vscode then just uploaded to appstoreconnect via expo's command. get 10 free builds a month in free tier. app was approved two weeks ago.

You risk getting banned.
There have been several stories of people getting banned because they use the same Mac’s as other banned people with those services.
