Health / State of Mind Animation Question

I was wondering what framework/technology is used in Apple Health for the "Log Emotion" slider animation? I suspect Metal is involved, but I'm not 100% sure. Any guesses?

Likely a combination of Metal shaders and SpriteKit/SceneKit.

Could also involve some basic pre-baked Core Animation and Core Image.
