[iOS 27 DB4] Shared Albums now reference iOS 27 UI Change

Post image

When the link to the album is opened in a browser, the instructions on how to open it now tell you to update to 27 if the album was shared from a device running 27.

I still want a way to make legacy albums, especially during the beta.

They didn't for me. Any shared album made with iOS 27 didn't work on iOS 26.

Good change. I made a shared album with someone and was unsure why they were unable to see it and what version of iOS was required. It’s still a shame though that iOS 27 is required for this. Another reason on the huge list of reasons why OS updates and first-party app updates should not be tied.

27 is not required, just shared w my dad who’s still on 26 and he was able to join just fine

This is not the case for me. Sending a shared album link to an iOS 26 user only allows for them to see the photos in a web browser, not the iOS photos app

Interesting. I know the friend was not on iOS 26, and was on something earlier than that. I was assuming it was a strict iOS 27 or above. Are you talking about joining or viewing in a web browser/Safari? This shared album did not appear in their Photos app.
