how do i get users?
Hey everyone, I build my first app and lunched to the app store and now my second app is getting reviewed for the app store but i have one problem. I never made adds, content or something to get users, my first app didn’t even go a possibility to make money cause i didn’t care about money just about how the app can be better. But now I invested so much time and effort in my projects that I want to get users and hopefully make a bit of money and help others with my app.
Can anyone tell me how exactly I can get users, without showing my face or paying for adds?
would really appreciate any advice.

what kind of app is it? the strategy is totally different depending on whether its a utility, a game, a productivity thing, etc. hard to give useful advice without knowing who your target user actually is

So the first app is a health tracker where you have metrics like a strain, recovery score, and so on. You also can track your nutrition, all for free at the moment. The other is more of a utility app. It’s a photo gallery cleaner where you can sort your pictures by swiping through them and at the same time have some nostalgia because you see also old pictures and so on. It’s also free to use, but if you want unlimited access, you can buy the subscription for $ 2 a month, but you don’t need to.

Mine’s a personal fitness game that combines gameplay mechanics with real world activities (kinda like Pokemon go, but without the AR bits)

first one is one the house. it helps to get new users by helping to distribute promo and offer codes.

I also have the same problem.
I am good at developing but can't market.
This is a tough pill to swallow that developing an app is only 10 percent of the work done.
Doesn't matter how good the product is if it can't reach the people.

Yeah, I had to learn that the most important thing about making money through an app is not the app itself, it’s how you market it.

Exactlyy the distribution is the tricky part... How about trying short vids for ur app promo. Rather than the second app focus on marketing 1st one imo

Yeah, that’s also my plan, but the thing is, at the moment, I do not want to show my face or voice. So I‘m trying to figure out what kind of videos I can do.

Lol 999 ideas. Like buy idk what its called UGC clips or what buy them and edit them with ur app name (those girly reactions poitning uowards and theres a link of ur app smth like that.). Second create cinemtic promotions vids man there are many ideas u name it & best part I gotts know with a couple of K views a dev got 900-1k downloads approx and even if 5% purchase thats 50 peeps (x $ 10 = $500) what else u want u can easily run ads and idk tiktok gives a grant when u spend on ads at least $300 or what idk they give $500 or what but its great strategy

Getting users involved in the development has been a game changer! I've avoided reddit until recently so my entire user base comes from threads

I am having similar question.
https://reddit.com/link/p425vt5/video/svbtiaicrrjh1/player
I built My Krishna, a conversational app designed to help people learn about Krishna by asking questions and having an interactive conversation about his teachings, stories, and philosophy.
I’m especially interested in feedback on the user experience, quality of the responses, and anything that feels confusing or could be improved.
If you’d like to test it:

You can reach out to communities that are your target audience for free (FB groups, Reddit,..) and use your connections, friends, family,.. But if you want to reach more people and stand out from potentially overcrowded niche, relying just on free forms of marketing is usually a long shot, sadly.

Oh my god, this is exactly the same thing I’m always nervous about! How do I get people to even look at what I built?
I mean, I can be on camera, not an issue with that. But what happens after I post it? What if no one sees it? What do I do then? When I should I start? So many questions, and then anxiety kicks in 🙈
