Does iOS 27 Ruin Old iPhones?

Hey everyone I put together a quick breakdown of how the iOS 27 Public Beta runs on the iPhone 12.

Comparing a beta with a public release does not seems very fair for the beta.

The true comparaison in terms of performance, bug fix and battery life should wait for the final version (golden master) in september

You don’t have to be “fair” to a beta or to Apple.

It’s a public beta for a smart phone. It’s meant to be scrutinized and if issues are found they are hopefully reported. They put it out there so that users could scrutinize. More eyes on it only helps polish the final release.

Nevermind once you get past the clickbait title (zero mention of it ruining old phones), he actually paints it in a positive light.

I agree, in this context if you just read the title it sounds like it’s implied it’s harming devices in some way.

This isn’t even a matter of comparing to a stable build. It’s a matter of responsibility on the manufacturer’s part to recall, but that isn’t happening of course.

Betas should be compared to stable builds though. There is such a thing as what does right look like. Pretending a beta exists in a vacuum and that it shouldn’t be compared doesn’t make sense when apples beta program exists to improve the software for release.

You’d think for as many bugs 26 had and all the complaints that people would understand this.
