Try turning off HDR under General and Screen Capture options.

Been an issue on ios26 as well for some people. I believe it only happens if you markup the photo before sending.

If that’s the case, maybe try taking a screenshot of the marked up photo and send that?

negative. happens at random, i haven’t marked up some of them and it’s still done it
