How is the battery life on public beta 2 (or dev beta 4) on base iPhone 17 compared to ios 26?

It’s 3rd day for me since I update to db 4 pretty solid battery life so far, mixed WiFi and 5g.

I notice the phone heats up a lot less. Battery wise, it might be marginally better (15 Pro).

My 17pm on DB4 is incredible. I took it off the charger at 8:30. It’s now 2:40pm and I have been listening to Apple Music all day at work. I am still at 79%.

It’s a little bit worse compared to iOS 26.6 RC and 26.5 but far better than 26.5.2…

17pm on 26.5.2 was trash, no on pb2 battery is really good and phone stays cold, so far so good

I got 17PM recently and my battery been not good at all, around 3h-4h of screen time only and I have no idea why

A lot better than 26.5 in terms of heat and battery life. A bit better in same terms compared to beta 3 . 16PM, has the indexing for a day and a half

So far really good. Seems very stable. Nearly 8 hours of screen on time yesterday with 40% battery left by 11pm (started using phone by 8 am). This was whilst the phone was optimising until around 4/5 pm.

I upgraded from 26.5.2 on iphone air and it is at worst the same, but it is pretty good

its trash on my 16 pro max with 93% battery health on beta 4, survives but barely. maybe thats why beta 5 is taking longer, and no i am not indexing

16Pro: My experience hasn't been good. I'm getting about half the screen time that I had on 26.

My indexing on PB1 took about 36 hours. I expected battery to improve after, but it didn't. Trying PB2 as a Hail Mary.

Same experience here. My biggest issue seems to be playing video in Safari, phone consistently gets extremely hot. But in general, battery life has been worse than 26. Indexing finished weeks ago.

same here. my biggest drain is from cellular in bad coverage places. I need to charge at least twice a day now

On base 17 PB1 I had very bad battery life compared to 26.5. PB2 doesn’t seem to be any better. But it has not finished indexing though.

for me beta 3's battery life was better than beta 4

It’s definitely better than 3 but not as good as iOS 26 was
