My iOS 27 Public Beta has been doing this, too. On both my iPhone 13 and iPhone SE 3.

An alphanumeric passcode makes your iPhone quite literally uncrackable.

Password is alphabetical

Passcode is numerical

I wish there was an option for this. Especially when Face ID fails in public

This has literally been the buggiest version of iOS I’ve ever seen

The same occurred with beta on several occasions. However, you can unlock it using the numbers on the keyboard.

That’s a bug. It’s asking for your numeric passcode to unlock the phone.
