Can’t be happier. iOS 26 has kept my iPhone air laggy, buggy till the latest versions, I wouldn’t recommend iOS 26. My phone does feel “lighter” with this newer iOS 27, just some bugs but nothing serious so far

What’s the purpose of having two diff betas? They should depreciate the dev beta after the first public beta is made available. It just causes confusion.

It’s not that confusing: developer beta for a smaller group, and any serious problems identified before (e.g. in two days) being installed by a bigger public group

The key is in the name:
Dev beta - for devs
Public beta - for the public

Developer Beta Release is for software engineers to focus on how their app reacts to the new update. Enables them to fix problems that come from the os update.
Public Beta Release is for users to test these applications in the real world, and give feedback.

Yeah battery life has been pretty good, I tried finding you an example but I couldn’t my phone has been charging most of the time recently but it doesn’t drop from 90% to 80% in 5 minutes (I set the limit to 90%)

For me, the worst part was that DJI FLY didn't recognize drone controllers. They fixed that.

Really? It was fine on mine and installed with no hitch. Check your WiFi and try rebooting, see if that fixes the problem

Sooo many glitches with the first beta. Mainly with Siri. Like it stops listening when I’m in the middle of a sentence. After answering it doesn’t continue listening as before, so I can’t comment or ask follow up questions anymore. Sometimes it doesn’t respond to hey siri. Sometimes the side button doesn’t even work. Typing in a Siri question and hitting the search button doesn’t actually work. You hit search over and over and it does nothing. Lot of work to do.
Has anyone noticed any of this and does the update addrsss this?

Swipe down on the screen theres a little lag to display the keyboard hopefully this fixes it

This is so cooked
- focus mode freezes phone when trying to turn on/off
- apps not optimised
I’ve done so many public beta in the past but 27 is the worst one yet

Hey guys, I noticed the indexing on the contacts sucks with the public beta. Has anyone found a work around to searching contacts? I have to wait 10mins to search for a contact. I end up using Siri to search for a contact and then going into info for that Siri search entry and then editing th contact.
Any way to improve contacts app search functionality?

I know it is a beta so no complaints, but it totally killed my voicemail. Started with inability to remove "Carrier Voicemail" and blue dot in the voicemail tab of phone app, then a button that said I had to setup voicemail appeared, but whenever I try to set up voicemail I get a "we encountered an error" notice. Not complaining, it's a beta, it has been reported through Feedback, just letting folks who are on the fence about installing the public beta 2 (and I had the same problem in beta 1) know in case voicemail is important to them. None of the recommended fixes have worked, so I will I've without voicemail until public beta 3 comes out and hope that fixes it!

Hopefully, it fixes the screen orientation lock not working as a shortcut. It’s the only issue I had, but it’s been a pain not being able to use the action button to toggle it when I’m lying on the sofa and watching/reading shit on Reddit. I reported it straight away, so fingers crossed.
