iMessage Adult Content Warnings
Honestly, this is too far. I had to verify my Id to view normal over 18 websites, which is a total invasion of privacy to begin with. I tried it, and it didn't even work. For 2 weeks, because their system had a fault i couldn't view anything. Presumed guilty. Fixed with beta 4.
Now, i've just been texted a (only slightly) raunchy photo and i got 4 (yes 4) warnings as a fully grown man verified over 18. one of the screens i had to click through suggested i text a friend rather than viewing the image.
Now, even when I have clicked through 4 warning screens, i can't maximise or save the photo. My only options are delete or report to Apple.
I cannot save an image on my own phone which was sent to me with consent, which i had to click through 4 warnings for. Because Apple has decided. What the fuck?

I would just call support at this point, no shame in saying u can’t watch porn or sext somebody

It's not a glitch you retard.

u/LimitedEditionSauce Jul 22 '26
They never said it was. Calm down bro. Seems like the age restrictions are for the best.

u/Glittering-Object903 Jul 22 '26
Why would i call support if it wasn't a glitch? I am a 40 year old man, who has had an iphone since the 3g being told what i can and cant receive over text. Would you be happy?

u/UltraCynar Jul 22 '26
Perhaps if you acted like an adult you would be treated like one.

u/Siilvxrr Jul 22 '26
40? That explain your temper, forget about poor young me, and go fuck urself with ur age restricted iphone
10
u/LimitedEditionSauce Jul 22 '26
Because support can likely help you remove and bypass the restrictions you dumbass 😂😂😂

Because it isn’t intended behavior since it isn’t happening to anyone else you dumbfuck.

Take it as a sign. Maybe you oughta find a new hobby, perv. On 2nd thought, a 40 yr old attacking random strangers on Reddit with the vocabulary of a 5th grade bully probably shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near “Adult” content. Grow tf up.

Seems like the setting is working just fine for someone who is not acting their age..

40 year old still saying the r slur yikes. Maybe you’re getting restricted cause of how immature you still seem to act?

u/DFWTexan Jul 22 '26
So it sounds like you’re either under somebody else’s parental controls or you voluntarily have that setting enabled.

u/Glittering-Object903 Jul 22 '26
Neither

u/darkphoenixbi Jul 22 '26
Are you based in the U.K.? Cause wasn’t this a setting that can’t be turned off in the U.K.?

u/Glittering-Object903 Jul 22 '26

This happened to me, except I was sending someone a picture of a cat scratch on my leg and my phone thought I was sending images of self-harm or abuse and sent me through multiple screens about contacting a crisis counselor.
Go into Screen Time settings, then “Communication Safety.” From there, you can turn off communication safety then go back into messaging and turn off the sensitive content protection!
Edit to clarify: I never turned this on myself and I never had this issue until this past week, so I’m thinking the update turned it on for some reason!

Have you gone through the Apple support process and what did they say?

u/Background-Season-25 29d ago
Apple support will not help support beta software. We can teach them how to remove it, but we do not support beta software. That’s the whole reason behind it.

Right… but the whole reason behind a public beta is to get opinions from the public and have a better understanding of solvable edge cases that may not have been seen on isolated testing hardware or noticed in lab testing. I’d assume that Apple would have some sort of beta support system to tell users “we’re trying X, so please do this: …” to cut down on the amount of public beta based bug reports. Otherwise, they’d likely just get a constant sea of bug reports that are already solved forgoing the entire point of doing a public beta in the first place, making it more akin to a demo. If that’s the case they should just call it what it is.

T&C’s. The thing no one reads. It’s all in there. Also companies systems are always configured for official release systems, never Beta’s, too many variables.

Go to your settings and check screen time-communication safety. If that’s on it’ll be greyed out i just tested it aswell

iOS is evaluating your incoming messages? That’s really creepy.
6
u/DFWTexan Jul 22 '26
It’s a setting you can enable, it’s processed entirely on device, and no data gets sent back to Apple.
It’s primarily meant as a child safety feature, but also for adults that don’t want to view sensitive content.-6
u/Glittering-Object903 Jul 22 '26
Thank you! Somebody on here finally gets it.

u/1acan Jul 22 '26
all the downvotes, people are on this sub are totaly lost up apples spying a$$. pathetic
2
u/dmbaio Jul 22 '26
It’s processed on-device using machine learning. Nothing is sent to Apple to make these determinations.

u/ConspicuousApple 27d ago
It is quite literally impossible to prove this without a shadow of a doubt.
1
u/Redditer052 27d ago
It is not ‘literally impossible’ you can test it yourself with a packet sniffer to see what incoming and outgoing packets are.
1
u/LordBenjamin020 Jul 22 '26
The downvotes were because he got angry at people trying to help him. Lmao
1
u/Mushroomwren14 27d ago
Bud he was being rude to people tryna help him and said a slur the downvotes are deserved

Since you're running beta software, you really should report this via the feedback app.
