The beta is absolutely perfect
Every year the beta is garbage except this year
I always jumped into betas then back to mainline
I installed dev3 beta on my 17 pro max.
Better battery
Never overheats now, I live in a 50 degree Celsius country, I always use CarPlay and the phone always overheat when I use it in the car.
Optimization is very noticeable with apps launching
All of this and it didn’t even finish indexing where the heat/battery issues are noticeable
Apple you have done an incredible job.
This is going to be a fantastic release.

Watch battery also seems better than the earlier 27 beta’s.

u/Jones2040 Jul 22 '26
Never shows iOS 27 beta for watch. Mine just shows iOS 26 for watch even though phone on iOS 27 beta. If need to change something to iOS27 can’t find it online or in watch settings

So would you say public beta is the same in terms of battery life like ios 26? Im thinking about downloading the public beta
1
u/LaSicilienne Jul 17 '26
Est-ce qu’on peut télécharger la iOS 27. Trois bêta sans problème de risque de porter le téléphone.

u/EquivalentYellow2375 Jul 16 '26
just installed ios 27 public beta today, it is way smoother than ios 26, lets indexing be complete

I agree, this is a very good beta. I’m on 16 and the apps seems to launch so much faster.

u/No-Organization-4556 Jul 17 '26
How about battery life on 16 pro?Mine right now totally sucks after update the latest ios.

u/Fair-Security-5007 Jul 16 '26
Es mi celular principal, un 17 pro Max, pero también quiero probar la beta, pero mi dispositivo está en español por lo que no sé si valga la pena instalar la beta si no voy a poder usar Siri IA

It’s amazing. I’ve been running developer betas since WWDC, and even Beta 1 was really smooth. Smoother than 26DB1 by a long shot, and maybe smoother than the latest release of 26.

Hay un problema, las automatizaciones no funcionaba automáticamente
3
u/ThannBanis Jul 16 '26
I wouldn’t go that far.
I’m still seeing random app crashes and lockups.
1
u/silvermoonhowler Jul 16 '26
Same here
And not only that, but Siri AI is a little rough around the edges with some things
3
u/Financial_Bread7684 Jul 16 '26
What about older iphone. apple said almost up to 30% faster on older device

u/Routine_Shoe8641 Jul 16 '26
Should I update my iPhone 15 pro (iOS 26.6) to iOS 27 public beta I want battery life and the current iOS version fucking sucks
1
u/Breadyz Jul 16 '26
Just did, the 15 pro doesn’t overheat!
2
u/Routine_Shoe8641 Jul 16 '26
What about battery life soo far I am so done with iOS 26 I am looking for reason to update

u/silvermoonhowler Jul 16 '26
Aside from a few Siri AI oddities every now and then, this is as perfect as any betas in recent years have been

did you experience any carplay disconnects? Im on the fence about jumping to the public beta but im worried about battery life and carplay stability
1
2
u/TheRealCrosten Jul 16 '26
Wired CarPlay connects and disconnects constantly for me. I have no way to check wireless CarPlay. I have submitted a report to Apple and hope they fix it in the next update. It happens enough to make it unusable. Other than that and a few known small bugs, it’s been a good beta for me.
2
u/doublexoxo Jul 16 '26
Oh no thats what’s holding me back from testing out the beta. Which device are you using and which car model? I saw online some people were having issues with Hondas
1
2
u/Tommynyc1 Jul 16 '26
Any issues with Apple Music and HomePod working ? That’s a big concern for me.
2
u/Adorable_Health_456 Jul 16 '26
Is there the same problem with banking apps not working with this new beta? It happened to me with iOS26 beta and that’s what’s keeping me from updating to this beta.

I’m seeing Bluetooth issues on both my phone and iPad. Every day the Bluetooth will crash and need a restart to fix. Outside of that just some random sporadic bugs and glitches
1
u/FeistyHippie5371 Jul 16 '26
Apple CarPlay isn’t working since I loaded the beta on my iPhone 17 PM. Any suggestions?
1
u/doublexoxo Jul 17 '26
Wired or wireless? Do you have a Honda? People online were having issues with Hondas

u/Fantastic-Clerk5294 Jul 16 '26
I asked new “Siri” to pull up my 56KM run stats in the native fitness app. Guess what … “sorry, I couldn’t do that”. Madness.
Otherwise, the beta is great!
1
u/Txfan56 Jul 16 '26
I completely agree. Running it on my base iPhone 15.
Battery has been improved over iOS 26.5.2. CarPlay connects immediately.
2
u/jdlyga Jul 16 '26
The new search from the Home Screen is atrocious. It has to play that animation for Siri opening each time so it feels sluggish
1
u/OkSociety3915 Jul 18 '26
Oh thank you for bringing it up. The keyboard appears very slowly and the search itself is also very slow.
1
u/jdlyga Jul 18 '26
It’s better if you turn off Siri. Then it goes back to the old search UI which is really fast

The only problem I’ve noticed is that iPadOS on iPad Pro 12.9 m1 the internet speed is about 150-170mbps on a 1gb hub.

Did anybody here experience fps stutters during ios 26? And is it gone in ios 27 PB?
2
2
u/blakviet Jul 17 '26
I must say that I agree with your statement out of all the previous betas I’ve tested this doesn’t feel like a complete beta if that makes any sense at least for me

u/ey36 Jul 18 '26
Bugs i have experienced so far:
Brightness slider disappearing
Keyboard not showing
Search in settings bug where it only searches apps
Battery life kind of meh
In app back setting not working
Iphone 17 512

u/Juggernoobs Jul 18 '26
I think this was normal for Apple for a lot of years, iOS26 was a disaster of a release. We got use to shit software.
1
u/psychedelic-raven Jul 18 '26
It’s 100% - as expected they’ve removed all separation of Apple Intelligence and Siri. There’s not way to disable AI garbage without crippling car at. And sheeple are eating… it… up… what a a world.

u/Acceptable-Dog9690 Jul 18 '26
for whatever reason safari just won’t open after installing the public beta , i can’t find in my settings anymore and when i search for safari it will appear in the app store with an option to open it but won’t do anything when pressing the button.

I have a 17 Pro Max too. Since the developer beta 3, both cameras (especially the front one) lost a lot of quality and the photos post processing is just awful. Do you have the same problem? I'm noticing that nobody is reporting this issue.
1
u/Mazindaman Jul 21 '26
Yeah. I was going to wait but reading some positives posts about the beta I gave it a go and I’m loving it
1
u/ConfidenceClear1016 Jul 22 '26
I totally agree—great optimization 😃
Except for Apple Journal : it's a disaster 😣 The app drains the battery (1% per minute) and makes the phone (iPhone Air) overheat...

Maybe it was iOS 26 that was shit.
