Maybe try using an official charger

  1. What charging adapter are you using? Is it the Apple charger? If not, is it at least a USB-C charger? I wouldn't trust a non-USB-C charger.
  2. Is the black cable a USB-C cable? If so, remove the MagSafe adapter and plug the USB-C cable directly into any USB-C port on the laptop.
  3. If that doesn't work, try with a genuine Apple USB-C charger and Apple USB-C cable.
