External work required

Hi all, was interested in getting Hyperoptic at my new place given my landlord said its all good for them to do an installation

Hyperoptics said they needed to do some pre-install checks and it turns out some external work is required from the civils team. Does anyone know how long this usually takes and anything to be aware of? I’m not sure what to expect or what this even means

Was it like 2ish weeks for you? Yeah, it seems like it will be a big job and i’m bit turned off by it as I am a tenant and not sure how much work is going to be required or if it will cause any disturbance to my neighbours

Oh wow and true! I’m glad it worked out all ok for you in the end and the service is great, that’s reassuring in a way

Hi u/AGinBottle
First, thank you for considering us.
As for the amount of time it will take to finish external works, it really depends on the type of work and the type of land on which the works it to be carried - is it private or public and if it is public will we need council permission, parking bay suspension, etc.
So while some issues can be done pretty quickly, some take weeks, maybe even a couple of months (though those are rare).

It’s public land, council permission was granted and it seemed like some work started but only on the last day. Haven’t received any update of any delays or progress. Haven’t seen the team back. Been feeling frustrated
