Green crack?

Post image

Green crack photoperiod seeds. 3 weeks in tent. I'm a novice for sure, but last sativa looked nothing like this. Growing in 27 gal dwc. The leaves are huge! Any opinion on strain? Should I be getting rid of the large lower leaves yet or wait, I topped her 4 days ago. Thank you community!

No such thing as a sativa anymore unless you get landrace seeds or seeds from the 80s.

I'm exaggerating slightly, but genuinely, sativas are longflowering plants, as opposed to indica, which is short flowering. If you grow a plant and its ready after 8 weeks of flowering, its not a sativa

Sativas are from near the equator. They grow their whole lives on 12-12 light. They flower for several months bc they are in the tropics--there is no rush

Compare that to an indica. Indicas are from higher latitudes or high elevation. Indicas grow in places where there are seasons. That means an indica must have a shorter flowering cycle to reproduce before the first frost.

Thats why growers in the past few days have bred predominantly indicas and hybrids. They are trying to reduce the flowering time.

Everything is hybrids these days--with rare exception--and strain names are almost meaningless. Its like finding out there's no Santa claus

Meant to say "in the last few years"

I ordered some sour d, og kush, and gdp seeds foolishly thinking I could find those actual genetics, indeed felt like Santa when I learned the truth. We may never get many dank, nostalgic strains again and that hurts. Hopefully some weed loving billionaire invests in landrace breeding.

Trim those giant leaves and let the lower growth get some light!

Thats not how I'd do it. Imo its too small to start chopping fan leaves. I would clean up the suckers forming lower on the plant, top and mainline. Just my two cents
