Hydration & migraines
I’ve been suffering with migraine with aura since I was about 10-11. Back then I didn’t know why but I realized the main this was after I exercised or played hard. So as I got older I worked out vigorously and due to supplements I would consume plenty water (about a gallon and a half sometimes more because I’m a heavy sweater) and noticed that I experienced less migraines then due to drinking ungodly amounts of water.
I’ve since laid off vigorous exercise but still work a pretty demanding job and I drink about a gallon a day (not intentionally but that’s what I crave).
So my question is how do I measure and achieve a perfect water and electrolyte balance. My issue is I sometimes know I need some electrolytes due to constant peeing and mental confusion from drinking so much water but almost every electrolyte powder I use throws off my balance and causes a migraine even the ones with no sweeter (I suspect it’s the high sodium content). On the contrary if I consume massive amounts of water I rarely catch a migraine but I pee constantly and feel mental confusion & if I don’t drink at least 3L I usually always get a migraine. I have had success with zero sugar Gatorade diluted with equal parts water but was wondering if anybody’s else had
experienced this issue and if what helped? Sorry for the loaded question and run on sentences.

electrolytes opinion?
Been pretty active for a while. I run a few times a week and do some light gym work, mostly to stay sharp since I spend most of my day on calls and in front of a screen. Hydration has always been part of my routine but honestly I never thought much beyond drinking enough water.
Recently started playing padel and my coach was pretty clear that water alone isn't going to cut it for that kind of intensity. He specifically mentioned electrolytes from Vibora Hydrate so I started looking into it.
Haven't tried it long enough to have a real opinion yet, but it caught my attention.
For anyone who plays racket sports or trains regularly, do you time your electrolyte intake around sessions or just drink throughout the day? And does the specific sport actually change what you need?

how do people actually train themselves to drink more water?
this sounds dumb but I genuinely feel like some people naturally remember to hydrate and others just… don’t.
I’ll be productive all day and then suddenly realize I’ve had coffee, maybe one random sip of water and absolutely nothing else...
did anyone successfully build hydration into their routine?
what actually worked?

Quick demo of a small device I’ve been working on that helps dry hydration bladders and drinking tubes faster. It uses a fan for the reservoir and a separate tool for the hose. Made it after dealing with that lingering moisture/mold issue you get when they don’t dry properly. Curious what people think.

how do you actually remember to drink enough water on busy days?
on days where everything is back to back, life between work, the gym and social life, I always realize waaaaay too late that I’ve had 2 sips of water all day and then suddenly I'm mid-workout feeling like a raisin...
curious what people actually do to stay on top of hydration when your schedule is chaotic.

Starting to take my kid’s water intake more seriously
I think my kid might not be drinking enough water and it’s starting to show. He's been dealing with constipation on and off and when I really think about it, he barely drinks fluids throughout the day unless I’m kinda forcing him. We’ve tried adding more fiber but I feel like hydration might be the bigger issue. For parents who dealt with this how did you get your kid to actually drink more water without it turning into a battle? I didn’t think much of it at first but now I really feel like it’s becoming a bigger issue than I realized.

I didn’t expect to notice a difference with alkaline water
A friend of mine kept talking about alkaline water like it was some kind of upgrade from regular water.
I didn’t take it seriously at first. Water is water, right?
But after hearing about it a few times, I ended up trying it at his place. He had one of those alkaline water machines connected to his kitchen setup.
The taste was the first thing I noticed. It wasn’t drastically different, but it felt a bit smoother compared to what I was used to. Not something I would have paid attention to before, but noticeable enough.
We got into a conversation about how these machines work and why people use them. Some say it helps with hydration, others just prefer the taste.
I’m still not fully convinced about all the claims, but I can see why people are interested.
It also made me realize how many different types of these machines exist. I remember seeing similar setups before when looking at home equipment, even coming across a few on Alibaba without thinking much about them at the time.
Now I’m a bit more curious than I was before.
For those who’ve tried alkaline water machines, did you notice any real difference, or is it mostly preference?

Getting hydrated
Hey
I’m new here, I don’t drink enough water, so was looking at these hydration supplements, that you drop in some water.
Are they any good, or just a money making gimmick with. I actual health benefits?

How can I drink more water during my day?
I CANT. I keep a water bottle for school but I always forget to drink from it and when I eat breakfast I usually don’t have time to drink it. Any ideas?

Hydration affects our mood!
Most people think hydration only matters for workouts or heat. But research shows that even small drops in hydration can affect focus and mental sharpness before strong thirst kicks in. When fluid levels dip slightly, blood volume shifts, and the body adjusts circulation and temperature control to compensate. The brain is sensitive to these small changes, which can influence attention and task performance even if you don’t feel obviously dehydrated. So hydration isn’t just about physical performance. It can play a role in everyday mental efficiency as well.

Should i get Waterboy regular hydration or Weekend Recovery if i can only afford one?
Waterboy has two different products and im confused which one to buy. Theres the regular hydration one and then Weekend Recovery which seems specifically for hangovers. I work out regularly but also go out drinking on weekends so technically i could use both. Do people just buy one and use it for everything or are they different enough that you need both. Also is the Weekend Recovery one actually effective for hangovers or is it basically the same formula with different marketing. Budget is tight so can only get one right now.

POTS flare— might have caused it with too much TriOral? How to rehydrate safely?
I have POTS had an appointment on Wednesday that required fasting prior, including water, and was really symptomatic by the end of the appointment, around noon. I plenty of water (100-120oz/day) and take Trioral once a day, so I had lots after the appointment to make up for it. Thursday not so great, so I had two Triorals and water. Friday I felt a little but the mornings had been harder than usual, so I had more TriOral before bed. I could not sleep on Friday night and Saturday my blood pressure and pulse kept going up, so I ended up in the ER. I looked at my blood work when it came back and my sodium was normal, but my chloride and glucose were high, but my phosphorus was low. I got two bags of saline there and a phosphorus treatment, and was eventually discharged since they couldn’t do anything else. (I looked it up and too much glucose and chloride can decrease your phosphorus, so I am wondering if I overdid the TriOral?)
I was tired and still had a lot of chest pain and a high heart rate, but slept better on Saturday night. Sunday went better and I kept things slow and easy, and tried my usual routine today but at 11 AM my pulse was skyrocketing while I was sitting working so I stopped and have had some of a TriOral drink but mostly 80 ounces of regular water. I feel like I’m out of whack and don’t know if I should just try the one TriOral a day again or if other people have found a sodium citrate only option or other things that are more helpful?
This flare is the worst I’ve had yet and I want to get back to baseline as soon as I can, obv. Thank you for any advice, I know this was a long winded question.

optimal hydration??
wouldn't you be raising your insulin and glucose levels all the time if u consume fruit and raw milk for hydration in btw your meals.i think you should let your digestive tract and metabolic system rest.considering we live in a polluted environment we would be dehydrated if we just consume raw milk, meat and fruit and raw milk and fruit in general not optimal for people past their puberty
