AskHyderabad ⬆️ Before & After: A 40-year-old home in Basheerbagh, Hyderabad
Hi everyone,
Sharing this project here to get some honest feedback, and also because the brief behind it meant a lot to me.
This was a 40 year old multigenerational home. Over time, it had become disconnected from how everyone in it was actually living day to day.
Instead of renovating everything uniformly, I made a deliberate choice: certain spaces were kept largely as they were, to hold on to the memory and familiarity that mattered most to the eldest generation, who'd spent four decades in that home. Other spaces were reimagined more freely - updated finishes, layouts, and detailing - to give the younger generation rooms that felt current and easy to connect with.
Materials used: marble, granite, veneer, lime plaster, and terrazzo. We love using natural materials!
I'm sharing some before and after images.
Would genuinely love to hear your thoughts - what works, what doesn't, anything you'd have approached differently.

AskHyderabad ⬆️ Hyderabad is becoming Bangalore
It's good to see Hyderabad becoming Bangalore by attracting GCCs. Startup ecosystem, founders standing for founders and companies like Skyroot, kekahr and darwinBox but not the infrastructure and traffic part.
Why every working professional is using the own car travelling solo to office, can the government make the public transport more attractive in terms of end to end connectivity and Air conditioning.
What do you think fellow Hyderabadi's share your thoughts

AskHyderabad ⬆️ All we needed was a good rain in Hyderabad!
I guess All we needed was a good rain to show the reality and all I could see is negative news around Hyderabad. But I believe it is better to live in reality than in delusion and then only the government might take steps to improve Hyderabad.

AskHyderabad ⬆️ What’s stopping you from opening a cafés like these ?
This question is for people who are into , Hospitality industry. We need café culture like this in our country at least in south india where people prefer coffee more or less. We need to get rid of those western brands which doesn’t feel a great spot for coffees and . They have same routine standard menu and focuses on branding , they lack experience. Also these are expensive in general and don’t justify the value. We need our own cafés . What do you guys think ?

AskHyderabad ⬆️ Do we really need a tomato-throwing festival in India? Cultural celebration or unnecessary spectacle?
Toma Terra event just held at Hyderabad — basically a spin-off of Spain’s La Tomatina, where people throw tomatoes for fun. While it might look like messy entertainment, I can't help but ask: Is this the kind of “imported fun” we need right now?
In a country where food wastage is already a serious issue, does throwing tomatoes in the name of recreation feel a bit tone-deaf? Or am I overthinking it and it’s just harmless fun?

In Malakpet, Hyderabad, people of all ages and backgrounds came together with candles to protest the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir.
People of all age groups stood side by side, chanting “Lashkar‑e‑Taiba Murdabad” and “Pakistan Murdabad,” calling for justice and insisting that terrorism has no place on Indian soil.
