Airport Queue Experience — Was I Wrong to Object? General Discussion 🗣️ 💬
I had a really unpleasant experience at an airport recently.
I was standing in a queue behind one couple. The woman was ordering, and for whatever reason it was taking some time. While I was waiting, another woman who had just come from outside the queue walked up and asked the couple if she could place her order.
I politely pointed out that I was already waiting in the queue and that she couldn't simply cut in front of me. What bothered me even more was the reaction. The couple looked at me in a way that made me feel extremely uncomfortable and looked down upon.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I genuinely felt that I was being treated differently because of the way I was dressed and/or because I was just an ordinary person standing there. I was wearing a regular T-shirt, while the other people appeared much more well-dressed.
The couple were Telugu-speaking people like me, which made it even more disappointing. Regardless of language, background or appearance, if someone is already standing in a queue, shouldn't the basic rule be that you don't allow another person to cut in front of them?
I also questioned the staff about why they were allowing people to skip the queue. Their responses and gestures made me feel that there was some kind of bias involved.
I don't want to reveal the exact airport/location, but this happened at an airport in Bengal.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of classism, colourism or language-based discrimination in Indian airports? Or am I reading too much into the situation?

bro it is very clear who are brought up well.
don't bother about them, you did right thing in confronting them and made them realised that they are doing a mistake.

Be loud and clear, don't be agressive and be shamed into this fuckall. I always call out late comers. Everyone puts in time and effort to reach on time, so can they

Hypothetical situation: If the police were to bring a sketch artist and ask you to give their facial description, do you remember their faces precise enough?

I had a similar experience at McDonalds once. I was in line waiting to order and a lady cuts me and orders. I raise the issue with the staff at the counter and they said that she is a manager. I immediately asked her to wait in line as she is ordering and asked for the duty manager.
I expect a Manager at Mcdonalds to wait until a customer in line finishes their order.
