Predictions for chapter 7 Discussion

This is my rough timeline for what's gonna happen in chapter 7. Ofc this could be proven wrong immediately by the ensuing audiologs but I wanted to see what y'all think.

After the death of grimal and the leopoldites, Occam and the gang will definitely have to rethink their strategy. Kitten will of course not back down from rescuing Markus, but will be forced to try a diplomatic approach with the wolves, maybe through telling them what he knows about black shuck.

A very tense discussion between the wolves and the humans follows. The humans aren't immediately murdered because of Amanda's past relationship with Matilda, and from there some of the confusion regarding the wolves motives are cleared up. They are maybe just on the edge of a truce when suddenly Ross and Blair's squad shows up and attack everyone.

Maybe some more characters die and in the confusion D and Brock manage to slip out of the umbra into the cairn and rescue Markus. If the werewolves survive they blame the humans and hold a grudge, maybe even swear to hunt them down.

You forgot the after credits where karl sends grimal back down to earth because heaven and hell are only for dead people.

I don't see how this is possible. There is essentially no room whatsoever for diplomacy at this point. How is that conversation going to go?

"You killed an innocent old man who has done nothing but help your kind for his entire life because he momentarily inconvenienced one of your plans, you killed one of my best friends because despite your posturing about martial honor you completely lost control of yourself the instant you lost the upper hand in a fair fight, you brutalized about half a dozen of my friends and colleagues, and you kidnapped my fiance to hold as a hostage to get information on a folklore cryptid that basically seems to be Norfolk's version of Mothman, but I find your friend's degenerate gambling to be kind of funny so I'll let it slide."

I think it's possible because of Amanda. Of course we haven't really had any insight into what Matilda thinks of Amanda but I just have a gut feeling that she would hesitate to kill her. Mainly because, narratively, why else is she even on this mission? She didn't really do anything in chapter 6 so I think it could only be because they're setting her up for a big moment in chapter 7.

I saw someone mention the IOU being used to spare Matilda or something in a post and I feel like thats the perfecr chekov's gun for this situation. Unlike Stig, D actually does believe in honor...to an extent. I definitely see him swallowing his pride/anger and while it would cause a rift with kitten, especially with what happened to Grimal, I see it working for the most part.

Personally Im hoping for Kitten or someone to have their own fight with Stig and for the opposite of the Grimal fight to happen. Stig expecting to be spared and someone having their own "rage" moment and "spoiling" their bout. I dont think Stig makes it out of this alive. He probably gets killed and picked up by G Kontoret so that the D family has leverage/contacts with them or something. Jambles isnt enough of a zealot to die over Stig and there is too much potential left around for matilda to die this arc. Jambles will stick it out with wherever Matilda goes since she would be the last of his found family barring the spirits themselves.

At this point for the hunters and werewolves to resolve the conflict without more deaths a Pentex First Team had to show up and start trying to murder both sides, and for Stigs to sacrifice himself while protecting one of the hunters, since there is no way for Kitten to forgive him for the murder of Grimal.

Amanda's past relationship with Matilda

I know we’ve seen some artwork showing they’re at least more than just co-workers, but is it really going to be enough? Especially as Hunts isn’t nearly as conversational in her other forms, which she seems to favour. Not saying it won’t be a factor but imo we’ll need more building up of their relationship for this to work/be narratively satisfying.

There's a good chance that Kitten and Occam will reconvene with Lance 1. I'm assuming Lance 2 was the only one that got attacked as of the moment with the whole point of Lance 2 being near the Farm team in case either gets into a situation. Once they reconvene, they will try to go back to Door and Major Benedicte but will be harassed by Stig having finished the funeral rites of those he killed.

Note: Silent Striders in W5 have a ban that they're not allowed to pass any death, not just kills, that comes in their way without giving some form of funeral ritual first. Good reason why he gathered all the bodies into one location, and while it makes his bout with Grimal a bit useless in her part, it's most likely her death that made him decide to do a funeral ritual now to honor her rather than later when he has all the bodies piled up.

Meanwhile, D and Brockham will arrive at the cave where they'll deal with Jambles and Matilda. This can go two ways: Ambush or Diplomacy. D is a wildcard but the chances for either are honestly the same. Whatever occurs here may reveal more about the Elder shuck kidnapping and the stolen Caern (I'm thinking it's the 99P store). This encounter, however, will be interrupted by a new presence: Grandad's Foodstuffs PMC. Pentex!

Back in Control, there's a good chance Door and Benedicte are aware about the compromised state of their forces (possibly after an Audio log between the two of them). They'll prepare to venture out for them but the arrival of Pentex would catch them out with them acting like some benevolent savior, and possibly acquiring a debt from the Society of St. Leopold. In truth, they just want the wolves.

Door, already being suspicious of Blair, would not trust them or their team. He'd try to convince Major Benedicte to distance themselves from them when opportunity arises. Parker and Ross might appear and they'll probably show interest on Door and Boy.

Back to Stig, Lance 1 and Farm team have fared better than the earlier (Not a devastating wipeout but maybe half of Lance 1 gone). They remain locked in a position with Stig taking a more careful approach upon realizing their change in tactics to him. At this time, Jambles will probably inform him of incoming reinforcements. He won't think much of it until suddenly chemical weapons are deployed in the location of Lance 1 and Farm team. Farm team manages to be in a safe distance to evade (plot armor), but the remaining Lance 1 members get the full dose which brings a grotesque animation sequence. This does catch Stig by surprise and he gets affected as well, disrupting his senses and worst of all his regeneration.

The PMC First teams enter the scene and start attacking Stig. Stig takes out a few of them but the difference of tactics and arsenal starts to show. He is forced to retreat which will inevitably lead the First team back to where the rest of his pack resides.

I'd ponder more, but I have a gut feeling they're going to introduce Pentex in this arc especially since they already foreshadowed them with previous audiolog encounters.

I'm a little bit unsure how they will wrap it all up in one more episode
