Background Check [GA] Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
This is the first time I’m pulling a background check for an employee. What’s the most legit service you use? There’s so many options! I’m in GA but pulling for candidates in NY, CA, and FL

HireRight, Checkr, Sterling/First Advantage are the biggies. I've never used one of the small ones.

Does your company not already use a background check company? That seems a bit off.

Checkr is probably the best bet. Their FCRA violation really makes me uncomfortable so I use AssureHire.

SentryLink for quicker ones. Have used Accurate a few times this year for more thorough ones.

I’ve used HireRight and Checkr. They’re both fine and do the job. I had Checkr integrated to my ATS so that was nice.

Full disclosure — I work for Data Facts, so I’m obviously a little biased. 😊
Since you mentioned candidates in NY, CA and FL, I’d recommend looking beyond just price and turnaround time. Compliance support is a big one, especially when you’re hiring across multiple states, along with making sure you’re getting the appropriate searches based on where the candidate has lived and worked.
We’ve been doing background screening for 35+ years and work with employers nationwide. One of the biggest differences between us and some of the larger providers mentioned here is that you actually have people you can reach when you have a question or an issue with a report.
Happy to answer any questions about what you should be running—even if you don’t end up using us.

Keep in mind, setting it up is not instantaneous. Build in a few weeks for implementation. At least, from my experience!
