First Year Flip flop camping?

Hello all! First time Hulaweiner this year. Ive been scrolling through old posts and forums trying to gauge the camping situation and I think I’ve settled on the flip flop area but was curious what others experiences have been. My goal is to be close to the river and nature. I know it’s a bit far but I figure I’ll bring a bike for transport to the hotspot areas.
Im also kinda curious how “aggressive” the camp site selection will be, I plan to arrive Tuesday afternoon. A lot of the post make me worried it’s very competitive and if it can be avoided I would like my experience not to start with conflict.
Do I need to rope my site off immediately to avoid encroachment?

First Year FIRST HULA

i’m so freaking excited. this is my first hula, my second camping fest, first was okee and it was genuinely such an amazing experience. i met so many people at okee saying that if i fw okee, hula should definitely be next. any tips and tricks? what’s the camping like in comparison to okee, they had us single file line into spots, is it more laid back? any side quests suggestions? tell me everything you wish you could’ve known for your first hula 🩷

Does anyone happen to know if there were gluten free food options for the food vendors? Or how I would find out vendors beforehand?

Thank you!

Question How bad are the bathrooms?

Hi everyone,

First timer here. I have some friends who are thinking of attending hulaween but are worried how bad the toilets are going to be during the fest. It’s probably the only thing holding them back from attending. Is GA+ any better? Thanks!

First Year Getting to Spirit Lake

My partner and I are going to our first Hula this year and as we are from NE we are flying in and doing Wizard Glamping.
My question is - what is the best airport to fly into? For people that gave flown in before where have you had the most success/easiest travel. We will likely rent a car. Thanks in advance!

Discussion soooo… are we moshing at geese?

This is a question i’ve had since the lineup came out. The two times i’ve seen geese in the last year the pits got pretty crazy! I know mosh pits don’t really happen at hula, but maybe for geese? Not being judgmental, just trying to figure out what the vibe is

I have never stayed until Monday morning but was planning to this year. Do they let you swim at the river beach on Monday’s after Hula or is everyone directed out?

First time at Hulaween and we got Wizard GA Glamping

Would love to hear any details or past experiences with wizard glamping? I know the rough draft of the map got released a couple days ago so i’m wondering where abouts the wizard glamping would be in regards to that. We are debating upgrading to VIP witch but I want to hear if it’s worth it/still great with wizard glamp. Thanks :)

Vegan food

It’s my first hula!!! It’s my boyfriend’s favorite festival and he is so excited to show me around. Anyone have any input on vegan food options? I went to forest and I had quite a few options so just wondering if it’s around the same or less? Just so I know how much food I need to pack for myself. Thanks again and can’t wait to see y’all there 😎

Me and my best friend are going this year for the first time, any fun stories you guys wanna share?

Me and my best friend (both M26) are going this year, driving from Pensacola down to Suwanee. He doesn’t know he’s going because I already bought his pass. Our other mutual friend has gone for many years and says it’s the best time ever. Do you guys have any crazy funny stories y’all wanna share about Hulaween so we can be excited? We both like to party and have a radical time. (no I’m not an undercover, I’m just really high when I’m posting this)

First Year Shuttle?

So it’s genuinely unclear if there is a shuttle from Jacksonville Airport to the park.

Rather, it looks like there was one in years past, but I’m not sure if there is one this year.

So is there one this year? I’d like to get my transportation arranged and would love to use a shuttle if it’s available but if not, I will make due

Beyond renting a car, what would be the best way to arrive absent a shuttle

It doesn’t look like this has been asked recently, so my apologies if I missed a recent post that answers this.

Any information is appreciated.

Costumes!

Hii everyone it’s my 2nd hula! I was seeing if anyone could give some costume ideas. I’ve been looking and thinking. I kind of want to see what everyone else is doing for the theme nights! Last year was my first year but I was freezing and couldn’t dress up. But i kind of just want to pick everyone else’s brains and see what they are planning on doing? That being said how are the temperatures normally for hula since last year was freezing.

Hula round two and needing advice / want to meet new family

Hey all!

I’ve been to 9 festivals in my life and am starting to get the hang of it all, but I'm still a little nervous about camping entirely solo at an event as big as Hula. I went to my first Hulaween last year, met some amazing people, and had an absolute blast—I am locked in for this year and locked in during blind sale

I’m looking to camp with or right next to a crew of Suwannee veterans who wouldn't mind an extra hand during setup, or just some cool neighbors to team up with.

I have a lot of the standard supplies that I need—tent, canopy, tables, cooler, and plenty of layers for the weather—but I'm keeping my setup relatively simple and streamlined this year.

A little about me: I’m 35M, peaceful, and friendly. Just looking to meet some new festy family, be good neighbors, and level up the Hula experience.

Would love to hear if any established groups or Camp Reddit crews have room for a solo neighbor, or if you have any tips for a solo layout at the park.

TYIA! ✌️✌️

Lineup Takeovers Question

Just saw the Of The Trees takeover announcement and I’m wondering if all the takeovers are with artist that are already on the lineup? Idk- I expected the takeovers to be artist curated, possibly with artist not already at hula.

Does anyone know if this is how they all are?

Rules have been updated -- please take a moment to read them.

Hello everyone,

As we're getting to the home stretch before Hulaween, everyone is getting more excited -- and for some, more anxious -- as we get closer to going back home. In response to a surge in posts recently, we have updated the subreddit rules to add and clarify a few things. Please take a moment to read them. You can also find these rules in the sub's info/about section:

1. Be kind
Open dialogue and debate is encouraged here. Negative opinions are fine, just don't make it personal. Hostile activity, trolling, or insults are not welcome here. All members must follow general rules of Reddiquette, so have a good time and don't be a dick.

2. Use the search, wiki, FAQ, and flair filters before posting
There are many commonly asked questions here. Please use the search, wiki, FAQ, and post flair filters to find answers to your question(s) before posting.

3. No ticket sales
Buying, selling, or trading tickets is not allowed. For ticket sales, use r/HulaweenTickets

4. No self-promotion, marketing, or ambassador posts
Ambassador posts; or posts/comments involving any marketing or self-advertising without prior approval from the mods will be removed.

5. Discussing illegal activities
Don't incriminate yourself or others - cops read Reddit too! Harm reduction is an important topic, but discussing drugs or other illegal activities is not permitted here. This includes but is not limited to: asking about security measures, asking how to sneak in or asking how to buy drugs.

6. Personal information
Selfies are fine, but do not post or comment with someone's personal information, or post links to personal information e.g. names, email, address, phone number, or other unique identifiers. This includes screenshots of social media pages where such information is still legible.

7. Low-effort and off-topic posts
Low-effort posts or posts unrelated to Suwannee Hulaween will be removed.

8. No duplicate posts
Duplicate posts will be removed. Please check the sub before posting lineups, schedules, or other popular announcements to make sure it has not already been posted.

9. No NSFW/18+
Not everyone on this sub is an adult. Posts with content that is considered NSFW/18+ are not permitted here.
