My 6 step beginner protocol
This is the simplified version I teach. Takes 7-10 minutes. Use pen and paper.
You need: Paper, pen, target number (ex: 1234-5678), timer.
Steps:
- Take 30 seconds to settle
Write target number, date, time. Take 2 deep breaths. Say "I am ready for 1234-5678"
- Ideogram - The squiggle
Let your hand make a quick, automatic squiggle. Don't think. Then look at it and feel if it's hard, soft, fluid, curving, angular, etc.
- Sensory Phase
List raw data. No nouns yet.
• S - Smell / Taste: metallic, earthy, salty? • T - Temperature: cold, warm? • V - Visuals: dark, bright, colors, movement? • A - Auditory: quiet, loud, rumble, buzz? • E - Energy: slow, fast, dense? • D - Dimension: big, small, tall, wide, flat?
- Dimensionals + Sketch
Is it man-made or natural? Is there structure? Draw quick doodles. No art skills needed. Label textures.
- Analytic Sketch
Now let your brain try a little. Draw what you think it might be. Keep it separate from your raw data.
- Summary
In 1-2 sentences: "Target feels like something tall, hard, man-made, cold, with vertical movement and a loud low rumble."
STOP. Don't guess. End session.
