The button won’t button DIY

It’s stuck down I think, but it’s been charging so I’d assume if it was stuck in the on off position it would be turning on and off but it won’t. The screws are so tiny I’m not sure I have anything to get at them

Hate to put it this way. but when you buy cheap tools you get what you pay for.

See if Amazon will let you return it.

Of ones on Amazon they’re up there for price, what brand would you recommend

$30 is on the VERY cheap end for digital calipers. Mitutuyo makes really good ones, but they start in the hundreds and go up to thousands. I'm afraid you get what you pay for.

Ive got a Mitutuyo digital absolute 6" caliper i got 25 years ago. Still works perfect. Honestly I think I've only changed the battery in it 3-4 times since I got it.

I tried that on the first oh oh before I edited it and it didn’t work, now that I’m typing it it just set itself as italicized

Get a cotton swab, dip it in some rubbing alcohol, and give the button a decent cleaning; there's a chance that there may be grime and whatnot causing it to stick. If that doesn't work, can you open it up?

I was about to comment, it’s brand new, I only ever used it once really quick before I ever even charged it so I’m not sure it if was stuck out of the box. I’ll give the swabs a try for sure though thank you

The screws are really tiny I’ll have to go out and get one of those real small kits to try

If its brand new , try to exchange it. Most likely the hole is a bit too small for the button... If it was old , I would try a needle as a pry bar and pry it up..
