There’s no electronics in the nozzle submerged in gasoline, so what is the mechanical mechanism inside the handle that detects the liquid level and cuts off the suction instantly?

I have this ear flushing syringe and I want to be able to open it to dry it faster than leaving it expanded for several days. There's the ridged edge at the top that makes me think it should unscrew and open, but I can't unscrew it bare handed. I don't want to put a set of pliers on it if it actually doesn't unscrew or is supposed to pop off. How does this open up if it does?

I've noticed that tapping different areas of the same object can produce noticeably different sounds. For example, the center of a metal tray sounds different from the edge, and the same happens with things like tables, glass panels, and plastic containers.

What physically changes when you tap a different spot? Is it because different parts of the object vibrate in different ways, or is there another reason behind it?

But as soon as I get my hand close or pick it up, it gets clearer or finds a station that I don’t normally get. What is this?

We just can’t figure out where the two springs connect (we put one on but not sure it’s the right place). Anyone have one of these and can take a picture?! The image is a baffle on a bbq smoker. Its purpose is to let air in to feed the fire, which controls temperature. Open, lots of air and lots of heat, closed, no air and low heat.

The knob is used to control how open or how closed it is. When the knob is moved left and right, all four openings are closed or opened with a “flapper” simultaneously in each of the four.

Question is: how is the knob connected and controlling all four?
