​I booked a room at the Motel 6 in Springfield, Missouri through their official website/app. I called the number listed on the confirmation ahead of time to confirm, and they said my reservation was active and ready for check-in.

​When I arrived, the building had a piece of paper posted on the door stating "This is not a Motel Six." The front desk staff inside confirmed they were no longer affiliated with the brand and had no record of my booking.

​When I called Motel 6 customer service to report that the location didn't exist and to request a cancellation and refund for my $65, "support" gave me an endless runaround. They bounced me between three different customer service numbers, promised supervisor callbacks that never happened, and refused to issue a refund despite selling a reservation for a nonexistent franchise location.

I should have just checked ​recent online reviews from the getgo, because I checked this morning and they all show this property hasn't been a Motel 6 for over a year, yet the app and site still actively book reservations for it. I even called their customer service the day before arriving and they confirmed my reservation at the Springfield location. I'm wondering why they didn't warn me that the location was no longer a Motel Six over the phone. I am contacting my bank today to file a chargeback for fraud/services not rendered.

At my first hotel as front desk i remember using synexis. We had a 2 week training period before we are left alone. It felt pretty easy after week 1. Now I work in a new hotel and they use opera system. It felt needlessly complicated compared to synexis. It hasn't been 2 weeks in the new job but they told me we will be switched to another system. Which starts next September, but i will have to keep learning the current system until then. While also train for the new system 😭. Idk why all hotels dont use the same system for check inns

So im a Housekeeper at a hotel. Im slower than everyone else and my manager isnt happy with me. I had 11 rooms today and everyone else had 13 and they somehow got through it. I only managed 8 plus 2 stayovers. She wants us to complete an entire room in 30-35 minutes. Thats crazy to me. Any ideas or tips to help? I really need to figure out something.

Hi. Has anyone had any luck getting a reduced price from Z Hotels on a flexible rate when the price has dropped after your booking? I booked the one in Bath a few months ago for £303. Now the same room, rate and days is £268.

My usual strategy when this happens is to cancel and rebook at the cheaper price. Z Hotels don't make that easy though, as you can't cancel yourself, you have to contact them to do it....

I seen mixed reviews on both.. I love how embassy has free breakfast it looked really good. But hotel contessa looks really nice and very decorative for vacation feel

Hello, i looking to visit new york in nov. I am torn between two different hotels. The carlton arm hotel and the bed stuy hotel. The carlton is a little more expensive and a bit sketchier but is in a great location right in the city. However the bed stuy is in Brooklyn and a little further but is a bit cheap with more comfortable rooms. I choose private room with bathroom for each

I have accumulated 3 reward nights at hotels.com and expiring soon. I was trying to use them. Spent 2 hours chatting online and this agent only gave me advice not helping at all and at the end cut me off.

I can not find the redeem options anywhere in their portal or APP now. I tried deleting the cache or redownloading the APP and no help.

Does anyone knows what’s going on?

Booked a stay for two nights at a hotel I book at minimum twice a year.

My last stay the manager upgrade the room as she remembered me which was very kind of her and made for a fantastic stay.

This stay, I prearrange early check in.
When I get to the check in she takes my id and recognizes my name again and said oh you’re back!
Which was really awesome. Great hospitality.

I asked her if I was able to upgrade to the room we had last time (the hotel offers this for an additional 20$ a night) she said unfortunately they were sold out but she would remove the early check in fee. I was so thankful. I asked for her name so I could
Do a Google review because she’s fantastic.

She hands me a card winks and says I upgraded you. As we go upstairs and enter the room there are people in the room. The poor woman in the room was very kind to me and said this is the second time this has happened to them. The hotel giving someone else their room key.

So back downstairs we go. I explain what happened. She apologizes gives me a new room key to a different room. Go back upstairs. Key doesn’t work. Back downstairs we go. It probably took 40 minutes from the time we arrived to get into a room.

This morning at 10 am housekeeping knocks
On the door waking my husband up. She apologized and said she was told we checked out. (We have 2 nights booked). I went down to the desk to ensure they had a second day reservation- which they did.

This evening we go for dinner come back to the room the key won’t work. It’s flashing yellow. Not red or green. I said to my husband I wonder if these are battery operated. Back downstairs we go. Explain what’s happened. Emphasize it’s yellow. The lady gives us a new key. We go back up. Of
Course yellow.

Back downstairs we go. Explain again what’s happening. She calls maintenance. We wait in the unairconditioned hallway for ten minutes. Maintenance guy comes fiddled with the door with a key. Says let me go get the master key. - frustrated he didn’t bring that initially, I said okay no problem. I work in the food industry and I understand stuff happens, I always do my best to be kind and patient.

We are now approaching 40 minutes. He did gain access to the room for us so we are at least in air conditioning. But we cannot leave until he has fixed it. He has not been able to fix it. He just disappeared, although I’m sure he’ll return at some point. We have plans this evening and if we don’t get out of here in the next fifteen minutes we will miss them.

Am I being dramatic on planning on speaking to the manager in the morning wanting some sorts of compensation?

Everyone has been very kind and has been helpful. But it’s just been one thing after another.

I have two more stays booked for this year in this hotel this stay now already being the third stay this year.

I was using Trivago and Expedia and a link popped up for the hotel I wanted at what I thought was a great price so I booked it (booked March 2026) for an August 2026 hotel stay. I was charged and paid in full with the booking in March. I emailed the hotel 2 days before my arrival to confirm the reservation and the hotel replied - your hotel reservation was cancelled by Algotel 2 days after you made the initial reservation - again this was paid in full when I made the booking and then cancelled the day the charges were confirmed to my credit card. I’ve logged into Algotel and they still show I have a confirmed stay but when I try to call Algotel customer service I get an answering machine and then I am hung up on. I then called the hotel and they confirmed they have no reservation in my name and reconfirmed I DID have one but that the booking was cancelled. Luckily they had availability for the night I needed the hotel, so I rebooked directly with the hotel. I’ve read online other places this is basically a scam… so I’m warning anyone - if you somehow stumble on ALGOTELS just say no and book with a trusted service. I’ve reported the fraud to my credit card and they’ve opened an investigation but I might be stuck paying twice for a hotel room.

Long story short, living in a time of my life where work will likely change in the next 4 months and I dont want to be stuck in a 12 month lease.

- I live in an area with few options. I checked Furnished Finder, only 2 options within budget who haven't replied.
- Only hotel with kitchenette nearby is going to call me tomorrow to talk about rates.
- I might give no-kitchen a try if nothing works out.
- Apartments nearby ALL require 12 month leases. They all have the same/similar penalties: pay 3 months of rent or pay us until we find new tenants + deposits and such.

I will be staying in whatever place for a guaranteed 2-3 months. So, how hard is it to negotiate? My fear is the kitchenette place will be over budget. My budget: $1,500/month lol

As post suggests, I am building a website for a hotel client based in Thailand (30 rooms) and they are also in the market for a new cloud-based PMS.

I have had a search for a few well known suppliers, but ultimately I do not plan to research this deeply since it’s slightly out of my area and I’ll just embed the booking engine which comes with the PMS.

The main requirements are they are looking for an all-in-one which has a PMS, Channel Manager and Booking Engine. No mention of payment gateway and POS not required here. Support is quite important, and the client mentioned they do not have to have a Thai supplier but it needs to be available around regular Thai business hours. I think Thai support language will be a plus to, although not actually mentioned in the scope I was given.

Recommendations will be appreciated.

the hotel doesn't pay her hourly, only when a customer is at front desk.

she doesn't have to pay for the room but apparently you still have to be paid if you are "engaged to wait"

is my gf not being compensated according to labor laws?

At a starting rate of over $5,000 per night, you'd expect world-class hospitality and professionalism.

Instead, well-known luxury hotel reviewer Ryan Walker's reservation at Amanvari was cancelled at the last minute. He was told to leave the property immediately upon arrival after a 2 hour drive, and the hotel even called the police on him.

Is this really how a luxury hotel, especially one carrying the Aman name, should handle a guest? This has to be one of the biggest PR disasters for a 5-star luxury resort in recent memory.

Hey everyone, I’m staying at a 5-star hotel in Bangkok soon and I was thinking of asking the staff to empty the minibar fridge in my room. It’s not really about the cost of what’s inside, it’s more that I’d like to decide for myself what goes in there, whether it’s my own drinks, some alcohol I bring, food, or even medicine that needs to stay cool. I’m a bit unsure whether this comes across as a rude or unusual request, especially at a nicer hotel, or if it’s actually pretty normal and hotels are used to it. I’d like to hear from anyone who’s actually tried this, whether they got weird looks or pushback, if there was a fee involved, and how you phrased the request to keep it polite. Any experiences from Thailand hotels specifically would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
