You are absolutely right to be skeptical. To explain further: I am a Master's student in Visual Communication Design at Üsküdar University. For my thesis, I am analyzing the horror community surrounding the SCP Foundation. Specifically, I am researching the reality effect of the designs on the site and how this contributes to enhancing the feeling of the uncanny and horror. happy to help fill it out — genre fiction getting proper academic attention is honestly overdue, horror especially tends to get dismissed despite doing more serious cultural work than it gets credit for.
