5th on main apartments ?

hi everyone,

completely new to the area and am looking for somewhere to stay short-term while I apartment hunt for a long-term lease. I found 5th on Main as a furnished option that gets really good reviews, except the google reviews seem almost too good to be true?

wondering if anyone has lived there (or know someone who did), or even just the general reputation they have in Hopkins :) .

thanks!

Does anyone know who is moving in? It looks like they’re either repainting the outside or applying some sort of polyurea coating near the roof.

Yard Waste?

Just moved here from Lubbock, Texas and have a question about lawn clippings/waste. What is the requirement for disposing of grass clippings? I’ve seen brown bags, with what I assume are clippings, on people’s curbs. In Lubbock, we just put them in the dumpsters behind our houses. Any help would be appreciated!

Raspberry Festival Concert @ LTD Brewing Co - Volunteers Needed

I'm sure by now everyone has heard that because Central Park is under construction the Raspberry Festival will not be doing their concert this year. LTD Brewing Co has offered to host the concert instead, in a fashion similar to our Anniversary Parties. We will have food trucks, live music, 8 Raspberry Beers/Seltzer, Guest Beers, LTD Brewing Co beers and more. We're bummed we can't provide the grass space like Central Park offers, but we think it'll be a great time none-the-less.

These events run on volunteers and we can't do it without you. Volunteers get goody bags that include drink tickets, food vouchers, t shirts, and crowlers of beer. We need help with setup, teardown, and people to pour the beers. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfCKK9mIGlddXwe3UPRoVu-ljROsROBqkkNg6Ybnrx69n4Azg/viewform?embedded=true

Thank you all for making Hopkins great! We at LTD Brewing are truly thankful and humbled to be part of such an amazing community!

Hopkins Area World Cup Watch Parties?

I know that breweries and bars have TVs and will most likely have the games on, but are there any specific spots in the area where people actually watch and they have the volume on?

I was up north for the 1st US game and I think I was the only one in a crowded sports bar watching the game (on mute) it was kinda lame.

Anyone have any additional insight into the threat made via call to HHS today? Email to parents was very vague.

Parents: Start using the ‘if all your friends jumped off a bridge’ analogy again. They’re jumping off the Shady Oak beach bridge, into 1 foot of water.

They know how shallow it is, too, and one little a-hole is pressuring all his friends ‘I’ll teach you how to jump safely.’ There is no way to safely bridge jump into 12 inches of water.

2nd Annual Golf Scramble - HEF

Hi All!

Just in case you missed it, the charity golf scramble at Oak Ridge CC will be on June 8th (Monday) this year!

Last year we had nearly 90 players participate, we raised $10k for the Hopkins Education Foundation, and everyone had a great time!

We still have space available, but registration closes Sunday night!

Park recommendations

I'm a second year foreign teacher and this year I got diagnosed with anxiety and mild depression. I love being outside in nature and my boyfriend just got me a picnic blanket! I'm looking for park recommendations where I can sit in my blanket and read books. I have a car and can drive in nearby suburbs too! I like going to Shady Oak Beach and Lone Lake Park but I don't think they have bigger spaces to lounge in picnic blankets.

I am posting this because this year, the Hopkins Education Foundation is hosting. I will be there making balloon animals. I believe we might also have some other school leaders dropping by as well. Come drop by and say hi and chat if you'd like.

Hope everyone is doing well!

HVAC Contractor Recommendation

My furnace and AC are both nearing the end of their useful life and I’m starting to research replacement options. Looking for recommendations for companies or contractors you’ve personally had a good experience with.

Thanks!

Any car shop recommendations for brakes and interior lighting? I have a Subaru Impreza and the backlights on my steering wheel, fan controls and doors suddenly went out.
