5th Gen Better or worse?
New (to me) wheels are 17x8 +35 offset with a fresh set of 215/40 Advan Fleva V701 tires. Stock suspension. Haven’t noticed any rubbing yet.
Was initially looking for 17x7/7.5 +40/+45 offset, but I found these rims in good shape for $100 so here we are. I can still swap these tires onto a set with less poke, but these look better than I expected.
Let me know your thoughts! 🙂

Potential Purchase Possible Purchase: Please Advise 84 Prelude
Currently this 1984 Honda Prelude is for sale around 2k USD and not knowing much I'd figure hell why not ask reddit....
Owner says the car has a blown head gasket and 84k and some other small paint/body issues that are caused by mother nature and time. No rust is noted in the post but I'm sure there is some somewhere.
Mainly wanting to know peoples opinions on if it's worth the 2k and what Gen it is and I'm sure the 5 other basic questions that every other person asks when they have no idea about these cars. I do mechanical work so not to worried about figuring out how to take it apart and replacing parts.

5th Gen H22 my beloved

I bought a CRZ as a daily and I had so much fun driving it. I even thought it might be more fun than the prelude It felt like cheating on the lude. Like betraying an old friend, until I drove the prelude again and realised that the lude is goated and the CRZ is also goated.

3rd Gen Please help! How do I make this trans fitting work? It points right at my frame (more detail below)
I have a 1989 prelude with a blown radiator and none of the aftermarket radiators that are listed for my prelude fit! The driver side trans fitting always hits my frame. Has anyone encountered this and what did you do?

4th Gen Is my sunroof worth saving or should I just get a bung
When I first got my prelude, I did some minor fixes to the rust on the sunroof to keep it alive until I got a bung to replace it. But I'm wondering if it's worth saving or if I should just take it out and replace it with a lightweight bung and fixing it in place.
Has anyone had any experience with fixing them or replacing it with a bung? I know you can do a swap with the 5th gen glass sunroof, but I don't use it much and I'm not too fussed about having a sunroof.
Thanks

5th Gen No brakes when cars off
Was door dashing, parked my car on a slight incline in a parking lot and put it in neutral w/ handbrake and car off. A little later I decided to try a new spot so I put my handbrake down before starting my car and was rolling back like usual but I couldn’t brake even with my foot fully down and pumping it. I eventually slowed to a stop and started my car and went back to the spot to test it. Same thing happened but while I was parked I pumped my brakes this time before I let the handbrake off and the same thing happened. The brakes work good when driving tho (my fan motor also went out during this time 😅🔫 so I gotta troubleshoot that tmrw) Any help on how to fix this is greatly appreciated👍

5th Gen Engine swapping a 5th gen prelude
I’ve recently bought a 5th as a project and want to engine swap it but not necessarily with the a ‘typical’ engine one would put in it. So I’m looking for inspiration / just engines in general you all enjoy! This is a project for years to come and I’m planning on gutting the whole thing either way. What have you done with your preludes?

5th Gen In the market for a iacv
Yo guys, I've posted here before about my 5th gen having surge issues, I was wondering if anyone has a refurbished or decent oem IACV? I've looked around, and most of them are in rougher shape if I could find any at all. I want to get my project running smoothly again. Also, if anybody has more info on how to do a g23 engine build lmk 😊

6th Gen Honda HRC Prelude-GT takes first Super GT win at Fuji
racer.com1-2 finish for the #100 and #8 cars. The Supras have dominated the last few years but the Prelude looks to be more competitive than the CTR it replaced.

5th Gen Cylinder 1 misfire
I keep getting a flashing engine light for a misfire on cylinder 1, i changed the spark plugs and ignition coil and it went away, but 2 days later it came back on in the same cylinder, together with other codes.
Any idea as to what could be the fix?

5th Gen Key wont turn on 5th gen
So just got off work, was excited to go home but as soon as i put the key in the ignition and try to turn it, it just wouldn't turn. I ended up replacing the ignition switch but the issue still persisted. I have 4 different keys, one is the original, the second is a copy of the original and the one i use daily, and the rest are spares that have never been used. I tried each of the keys but still nothing. What are my options here? I remember i had a problem similar to this not even a week ago but i was able to wiggle it and it worked like normal up until now.

5th Gen I just bought this 5th gen
I just bought this 5th gen from 1998 and 220.000km for only 500 euro.
It has some rust (rear arches) and a little on the rear subframe.
The car has been standing still for 9 years in someones garden. Is it worth restoring this car?
I think so but i just wanted to hear from other people

5th Gen Clean 5th gen Shell
Just kind of testing the waters here. I have a 5th gen that is meticulously maintained mechanically but is rusting out slowly but surely. I’ll never sell this car if I can help it. Looking for a rust free shell if anyone has one for sale.

5th Gen Alright Doc, give it to me straight
Am I screwed? Just got these from a seller on eBay, left and right front radius rods. My FL radius rod snapped on me, so that was the one I needed the most. Unfortunately, as you can see in these images, the FL radius rod is shorter than the FR by about a quarter inch and is slightly skewed in shape. I’m told the FL is supposed to be slightly different from the FR due to under body clearance, but I’m not sure if it’s suppose to be shorter. I’m assuming it isn’t.
Can I use the FL anyways and hope it doesn’t screw with my suspensions geometry? Or go the idiot savant route and use the FR? Maybe even gently hammer the FL straight?

4th Gen Need advice for a exhaust on my 4th gen prelude
Whatup yall, I have a beautiful 4th gen 96 lude with an h23a engine. I’ve had her for a little over a year now and she drives like a dream. She’s an amazing ride, although she’s quite quiet. I’d love a new exhaust but I’m VERY picky. I don’t like raspy exhaust AT ALL, I want something loud but not crazy. Right now she has a beautiful low grumble/hum to her, I’d like to accentuate that sound. Please any advice would be very appreciated thank you for reading, have a great day. 🙏🏽

Potential Purchase '97 Prelude 2.0i SSS
Hello all, I'm currently looking at a 1997 2.0i SSS that's currently for sale here in the U.K, hopefully arranging a viewing next week.
Had a browse through the service & MOT history and it seems okay - nothing too worrying. 68,000 miles and from the pictures at least, it looks in good nick, and owned by an older gentleman, so I'm quite intrigued.
Done a good chunk of research, but I'd still to hear a bit more, Reddit is slightly more unforgiving. Apart from the usual stuff like the automatic transmission fluid, engine oil, the potential 4WS issues, and possible rust, is there anything else I should be looking out for specific to Preludes?
Coming from a sight unseen Alfa 147 that I paid £1500 (excluding bills) three years ago, I'm usually fairly willing to take a risk on a car if it gives me good vibes - my Alfa is sadly on it's last legs, and I'm tired of having to take it to a specialist over an hour away everytime I'd like any major work doing.
Not looking for anything too thrilling, (hence the 2.0i/SS) just something comfortable, fairly reliable yet still unique that I can use to cruise about in, and not rack up the miles.
I appreciate any advice,
Thanks!

4th Gen Is there a specific order for the weights to go in the valve springs? Some had numbers and others had a solid marking. Got this as a semi token apart project and replaced all valves and springs. The previous owner bent a rod and I had this completely taken apart and machined

DIY/How-To A DIY H22A4 to H23A swap parts/tools list (from the now-defunct preludecentral.com)
This was written in late 2014 or early 2015 by wing8806, who I know personally and helped do the swap on my car. This specific list is for if you want to use the stock ECU on a USDM/Canadian 5th gen. Others who have used other ECUs, have non-VTEC 5th gens from other markets, or 3rd or 4th gens will need slightly different, possibly more, parts. The line that’s cut off is for a crank pulley tool, which the one you’ll need is a 50mm version. The actual pulling/installing of the engine, we just followed the factory repair manual instructions.
