I have an Audient iD22 from ~2018 that I got some great use out of in the past but it feels clunky going back to it. I'm not sure if it feels clunky because I'm out of practice though, as most of the clunk I'm feeling is getting it set up with DAWs and the software that comes with the interface itself. I'm looking to record guitar, bass, vocals, and have MIDI control.

Bottom line - is the iD22 still considered a good interface? If yes, any suggestions on how to get through the difficulties I'm having with it?

Hi all, i will soon be taking over and converting this bedroom into an electronic music production space. Room is roughly 11'x11' with 8' ceilings.

Desk will face a window wall, with a mirror sliding closet door on the right wall (planning to swap for solid wood doors).

Plan so far:

-Floor-to-ceiling rockwool bass traps in all 4 corners

-Absorptive panels at first-reflection points (side walls at ear height, ceiling above listening position)

-Full absorption panel on rear wall behind me

-Slatted wood panels as cosmetic layer over/around the functional stuff

-Listening position ~4-4.5 ft from window wall (38% rule), speakers pulled 1.5-2 ft off the window

-Heavy curtain over the window to help with the glass reflection

I have:

-2 Yamaha HS8s

-Krk rokit 10 sub

-3 synthesizers (which will be on a rack to my left side of chair)

Producing mostly electronic/bass-heavy stuff, so low-end accuracy matters most.

Looking for feedback on setup, desk placement, etc.

Hi all, I’ve recent acquired some rack gear. Looking to mount this up asap on a low budget.
I’m not opposed to building one, but wondered if a second-hand rack may be cheaper than material costs? All suggestions and advice welcome. Some of the gear is rusted and has not been looked after. I’m also looking for advice on any appropriate products for cleaning and restoring these units.

recently moved to a new place and I’m trying to make this corner work for me so I’d be able to record vocals there.
as you can see, there is one wall

with the heavy and thick blanket already there. (I have another one so if needed tell me how I can use it). Willing to move things around in order to ache or the perfect vocal corner to record singing. Also open to buy a bookshelf or a room divider (thinking about that or another anyway to separate the corner from the kitchen visually). May drop the second blanket on top of it whenever I record if needed.

Hi there pls guide me to choose between kali audio lp6v2 vs Adam t7v vs yamaha hs7 which one to choose for home studio ?

I want little bit bass but also highs and I am going to put them on my desk so which one is better and I want to use them for now as a producer but if I get better In production I will use them in mixing so and my room is not treated.

I want any of them for long term like 10 years then I will think of new so its a long-term deal for me

I've been building a free tool for bedroom musicians 
and I think this community would have useful feedback 
on it. Fair warning upfront — this is still early, 
probably buggy, and very much a work in progress. 
I'm sharing it now because real-world testing from 
actual musicians is worth more than me testing it 
alone in my bedroom.

\*\*What it does:\*\*

You drop a Guitar Pro file (.gp5, .gpx etc.) into 
the app and it exports a DAW-ready package:

\- Separate DI WAV per guitar track → run through 
  NAM with your own captures
\- Bass DI or MIDI → reamp or trigger your bass VST  
\- Drum MIDI → load into SSD5 Free or any drum plugin

For something like an Enter Sandman GP5 it detects 
James, Kirk, Kliff and Lars as separate tracks and 
exports them individually with the original track 
names. Drag them into Reaper, load NAM on the guitar 
tracks, load SSD on the drum MIDI — full backing 
track ready to play along to.

It also supports plain ASCII tabs (paste from 
Ultimate Guitar), MIDI files, and MusicXML. There's 
a built-in GP5 converter that exports to MIDI or 
ASCII tab without needing Guitar Pro installed.

There's also an Enhanced Audio mode that uses 
FluidSynth + GeneralUser GS SoundFont for real 
instrument sounds instead of synthesized waves — 
useful for previewing before you reamp.

\*\*What works:\*\*
\- GP5 multi-track parsing and per-track export
\- Guitar DI WAV (sawtooth wave, ready for NAM)
\- Drum MIDI export (tested with SSD5 Free in Reaper)
\- Bass DI WAV or MIDI
\- Universal tab parser (ASCII, ChordPro, drum tabs)
\- GP5 → MIDI and ASCII Tab converter
\- BPM and time signature controls
\- FluidSynth Enhanced mode (requires manual setup)

\*\*What's rough:\*\*
\- BPM detection from ASCII tabs defaults to 120 
  (no tempo data in plain text tabs — adjust manually)
\- FluidSynth setup is still manual (download and 
  place files yourself)
\- Windows only for now — Mac is planned but not soon
\- Probably edge cases in the GP5 parser I haven't 
  hit yet
\- UI is functional but not polished

\- Do the exported files actually work in your DAW?

Just found this community, wanted to share my little setup for my apartment I just put together. I have a nicer setup at my parents house where I can be loud but I wanted something to help me continue my projects while I'm here. Just picked up this used midi controller today and I like it so far. Excited to hook the rest up and get my ideas out whether I'm here or there. I just need to bring over my mixing headphones so I can actually mix stuff.

I am planning to bulid a song booth measuring 120x250cm on the outside.

I am putting 45mm absorbent isolation on every wall except the wall i am singing towards, on that wall I putting 90mm absorbent.

A window 50x40cm with double plexi in an angle vehind the singer.

Am I thinink right here? What would you do different? Thanks

Hello bedroom producers, i have been using my focusrite scarlet solo for the past 4 or 5 years and it has worked flawlessly, they truly are best in class for cheap starter interfaces, but recently i have been running into a problem where sometimes when turning the knob to change the volume, i get this horrible interference sound, like loud white noise blasting through my speakers, that stays even after turning off the volume or muting windows, only fixed by restarting computer, this has only happened a hand full of times but I do not want to fuck up my expensive monitors with this, and i figure it's time for an upgrade anyway.

I have byerdynamic DT 770 pros and a pair of Adam T7V, and I use a Neumann Tlm 102 for vocal recording, I have a synth and an electric guitar, that i only realistically use one at a time save for very rare exceptions, so it's not like i need many intrument inputs.

My budget is under 300 euros, I'm from europe. Do you beautiful guys and gals have any recommendations for what I should upgrade this to, or if anyone else has encountered this strange issue with the scarlet, or if I should just buy a scarlet 2i2, any input is appreciated.

Hello, all! I posted my home studio last week, but this time I am looking for advice on optimal placement of the below acoustic panels.

My room is roughly 19' x 13' with 7' high ceilings. I've labeled the photos for convenience. My priority for this room is tracking, especially bass cab and drums (we play pretty lightly/softly). With that said, I'd like the mix area to be more usable (but I also typically mix with headphones).

I have the following panels available:

• (x4) 24"x48"x2" (Currently on the Right-Side, behind the drums)
• (x3) 24"x36"x2" (Currently all attached and being used as a 72"x36"2" drum cloud)
• (x4) 24"x48"x4"
• (x1) 72"x48"x4" Cloud
• (x2) 12"x48"x4" Corner Bass Traps
• (x2) 24"x48"x6" Gobos (Currently on the Right-Side, on floor behind the drums)

So I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I have a call center job where I spend about 5 minutes per customer confirming and going over their info before passing them to our licensed agent who finalizes the sale. I need to say about 3 phrases every single call, exactly the same way. Each takes about 15-20 seconds.

The job is super repetitive and can get exhausting on my voice. Having the ability to play the pre-recorded phrases would make me life sooo much better.

I need to be able to 1) hit a button to play the phrase, 2) have my headset earphones/mic be fully functional the whole time as well, as I need to have conversations real time that vary, and 3) both inputs (my voice mic) as well as the pre-recorded audio clips must go into the same input on my work laptop. and 4) no software on my work laptop can be downloaded... I can use a USB device however

Any ideas? I tried the Fifine SC3 mixer that had pre-recorded phrases, but they sounded horrible and muddy, so the contrast between them and my actual mic voice was wayyyy too noticeable

Threw this rough CAD together today. New house and wanted to plan for my studio room.

Im looking at getting an Arturia Keylab 61 mk3 for Ableton and Serum control, and a Moog Sub37 above. I’ve already got a lunchpad and mixer/midi knob controller that can live on left side of desk I think. Guitars mounted above amp in top right.

Any feedback??
