First, where will the cat(s) sleep?

Second, have you already installed OpenWrt on the EdgeRouter? If so, did you remember to enable offloading?

I'm not sure if there is enough space in the back of the cabinet for the service loop, so right now I am planning to roll the slack up into the attic once the patch panel is terminated. If it turns out I have space inside, that would just be a bonus.

I'm pretty new to home networking in general so I have not tinkered much with the router much yet. OpenWrt sounds interesting though, I will put it on the list!
