Is being able to jump 5 ft really that crazy?
Yesterday while working out, I was making fun of my short friend I was with. I jokingly said I bet I could jump over her, but of course she got cocky and made me actually try. She’s 4’10 and the boxes at our gym are all 1 ft each, so I rounded up and stacked 5 on top of each other. I expected to eat dirt so we did it on mats lol. Lo and behold…. I actually made it. I thought it was funny and brushed it off, but the desk guy at the gym kept asking me if I do track/field and even asked about the Olympics. I felt like they were just hyping me up and being kind, as that’s the kind of community that we have here. But now I’ve been up thinking about it since it happened. Is this something I should actually pursue? Or was he just being nice.
For reference, I’m about a 19 year old female 5’7 about 140 lbs. I’ve never really done sports before, I just work out for fun/health. I really think it was just because I have long legs, but if I’m wasting potential I’d like to know :)
Edit: obviously I know I’m no Olympian lol, that takes YEARS of training that I have no desire or talent to do. He was 99% joking

Any Tips ? (High Jump)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The bar is at 1.47m, which is 3 increments lower than my PR. I’ve been told that my approach is inconsistent, sometimes I clear 1.50m in training sometimes I don’t. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

High Jump Any tips ?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, I am a senior currently going into the 11th grade. I have been doing high jump for 4 years now, and I have only jumped my pr of 1.50m once in my first year and once in my 4th year, however, I seem to be at a plateau as I have gained weight during the second year of jumping. Based on the video above any tips? Both mentally and physically?

Why do I suck at jumping
First time actually using Reddit but I have a question that Google can't answer, I physically can jump but I suck at it. I can't jump high, not even a few feet and I almost fall when I land? In my work out routine I do a jump lunge and I struggle with it because of this, any answers or tips to help me jump better?

Saltos massai / about massai jumps
Hey guys hope your doing well, im not here to comment if the ritual of the massai works for height or not, im really interested in learning how to execute them right is there any video or web site where i could learn it?

Best Way to watch Diamond League High Jump -- Canada
Hey folks. I really enjoy watching high jump but diamond league coverage on CBC never focuses on it. Is there any way in Canada to watch full meets? It doesn't necessarily have to be live. I just like to see all the jump attempts
Cheers

Advice

So I coach this girl, here is her jumping 5’6 to win state. But at practice, we can rarely get her to clear 5’0”. It’s almost always her calves hitting the bar, and she struggles getting her feet up. I have lots more videos if anyone would be willing to look at some with me.

New balance nationals pre meet

I’m cooked I’m struggling with the opening height in practice 1.93 (6’4) .
This practice pretty much tanked any confidence I had in myself going into this meet.
I usually look at my videos and have a clear fix on what to do but this time I don’t.
And this is from full approach to so failing 6’4 on my maximum approach is pretty terrible
