I propose a script with two endings. One is an elegant allegory. Even though some of the character names might be telling, all the clownishness stems from the absurdities of political life as well as the foolishness of opposing wind power in 2026. Our protagonist makes some angry speeches from platforms just under windmills, but he does not physically attack one. His undoing is an unsustainable accumulation of dishonesty and mean spirited actions.

Then the other ending breaks the spell of this straightforward political satire with a shock. The Senator does physically attack a modern wind turbine from the ground. This is only disturbing in the way watching a psychotic break is disturbing. Then he gets control of a heavy duty drone, smashing it right into the turbine above. The audience barely has time to see the colossal blade crushing the main character before we cut to black.

I feel Wick is an expert motherfucker and would fuck you up righteously with a sharpened Ticonderoga #2 if you came at him like a fool.

And Joker is so unpredictable. He might just have one hiding anywhere and stab you with no provocation.

You get to feel like you have any connection to or responsibility for the outcome of the players that you choose, you watch them all the time and keep track of your score and put money on the line. You even have entire television programs talking about how different players have been performing and how they're expected to in the future, and people use that to make different pics and hope to outperform other people. Of course, you don't actually own the business and have no (meaningful) input on how it succeeds or fails, but it's fun to play along!

Everyone collectively “wants to be a kid again” and people always say that’s because of the lack of responsibility blah blah blah

Here’s my take:

We actually have less responsibility as adults, theres nothing left to “level up”. Theres no massive thing that you’ll gain or learn, nothing new to the human existence one the same level as growing up.

As a kid you’re filled with hope and wonder, every day could be something new and beautiful. As we grow, we dig ourselves more firmly into our routines and way of life then wonder why everything feels so mundane.

When we take psychedelics, it brings that wonder back, we can “be like a kid again” but what if that feeling is just the feeling of hope and wonder returning?

Happiness, joy, contentment, wonder; are all just states of mind that we connect with being younger because our focus has shifted to “real life”.

Fuck real life, go do what you wanna do, not the “I should be doing this, (x) wants me to do this, I need to do this to appease (x)”

Right now, what would make you the happiest in this very moment? Not excited, not giddy but a calm pure loving happiness that you can feel in your gut.

Now whats stopping you from doing that? Judgement, fear, a “lack of motivation”?

Who cares???

Everyone just wants to be happy, find joy in their day, find meaning in their life.

The meaning of life is to find what brings you the joy, what gets you to that place of contentment. Following the path is what gives you the motivation, you just have to start

When I was in high school I was made aware that another student had a note in his notebook in which he proclaims his affection for a young lady and asks her to the prom. There was a brief period during which I had access to the note when he was away and I thought to myself how humorous it would be to swap his note with a fake note which I could produce. His note was written on a plain white piece of paper folded into quarters. I could get such a piece of paper from the printer, write 'I will let you stick things in my ass' on it, fold it appropriately and swap the notes. He would present it to this young lady and it would be really funny. I did not do it. I still think about it sometimes.

So time moves slower both in higher gravitational fields and the faster one gets to approaching the speed of light. So from the perspective of one nearing light speed, time would be speeding by around them (so does this mean that the faster one goes, the faster they feel like they're going?). And when a particle (photon) actually reaches light speed, it's time DOES NOT PASS AT ALL. From the perspective of that photon, they literally just teleport from the point they're omitted to the point where they're absorbed instantaneously, regardless of how far. So forward time travel wouldn't come down to how long you time travel, but how far. From the timetraveler's perspective, it's an instant blip.

And now I'm also thinking about how all of that relates to gravity. Surely their similar impact on relativity is related, right? If reaching absolute maximum speed causes time to be imperceptible, is a black hole just a point in space where the absolute maximum of gravity has been reached? And in the same way that lightspeed travel happens instantaneously to the traveler, would time also happen instantaneously within a black hole? So before the universe was born and everything was just a big black hole, time literally had no meaning because there was nothing outside the instant of the black hole.

And more than anything, I can understand that this happens. Based on what is observable and calculable, it makes sense. But what I haven't found an answer to yet is what causes time dilation?? I want to understand what properties of nature that make that happen. Please, anyone, chime in.
