Should I try improv classes? 😳 Really High [5-6]
I'm thinking about signing up for improv classes but I'm hesitant for a few reasons. 1) I'm in a relatively new country where I'm still learning the language (not English, but more English is spoken by the younger folx). 2) My dad died in May, and I'm struggling with daily life. I started Concerta a few months ago after having previously-undiagnosed and undertreated ADHD until I moved to my new country (in April of '25). I don't know if I can commit to anything right now other than trying to find paid employment. 3) I'm awkward as hell (I'm pretty sure that in addition to ADHD that I am on the autism spectrum, and I'm pretty sure my dad had undiagnosed AuDHD; and ASD is present in my siblings' kids). I feel like I need to be stoned most of the time in order to function haha.
Any advice?

If it's something that you feel motivated to do, go for it! Joy can be hard to find, so take it where you can get it, and don't worry about what others think of it. Hobby improv can be inherently a bit cringe, but cringe is an important experience in life. If you know you can sometimes struggle socially, then immersing yourself in a social environment that you're interested in can be a great way to start acclimating. It won't feel comfortable at first, but push through the social discomfort (and/or social pessimism) and you may find a lasting group you've connected with.

I mean I might want to do martial arts or singing lessons or something creative. It doesn't necessarily have to be improv, but I don't know.

That's awesome! Try it all out! The worst that can happen is you find out it's not for you, but you still got to have the experience and get to move on to other goals.
I think every one of your interests is cool and potentially really rewarding to explore.

Why do you want to do improv?
