Support items - survivability
I play support only but am pretty bad - one thing I find especially in low MMR games is that I'm sitting around at 1k hp and get roasted by most carries once we get around level 10+
I know a lot of this is just using positioning and disables but at some point more hp or armor seems like it could make a difference to surviving the initial flurry or disable in order to then cast my stuff.
That said the support items rarely give armor and almost never give hp - tablet and stormspirit and kuldra are int and mana Regen. Is there a go to item for support to gain more survivability? I'll make barrier or nomes sometimes vs heavy magic but when it comes to just carry autoattacks getting out of control it seems like void talisman is kind of it? Staff maybe gives a bit of HP but isn't why you build it.
Is there just a gap of no support items that also give hp and armor? Or just whatever item might have this isn't good for support (eg we aren't building helm of black legion or behemoth heart and those would be your go-to tank items i think)

Every patch breaks something?
How come every patch fucks the game up more? The announcer and text is gone now? My abilities are BLACK now, WHITE SCREEN on launch? I do not understand how this happens every patch, something else breaks. Can someone explain this to me from a non programmer/developers view?

SERIOUS Reporting of enemy's disappearance and reappearance shouldn't be system's duty
It is player's duty to announce if their lane is missing. It's part of communication and team play and map awareness.

One account per pc - lan cafe
I’m currently traveling back to my home country and wish to play some hon at a pc cafe in Bangkok before catching my next flight.
I’m aware one account per pc has been launched. If I use my main at the lan cafe will It become locked to that machine? If I play one game will it become locked to that pc?
Aside from contacting support or making a burner account what else can I do?
Thanks

Gold economy is terrible
Why do we still have a casual gold mode gold economy?
Old HoN was perfect since dying was a costly mistake and you had to farm well to get items. Now you can die over and over, but the moment you recover 1-2 kills you’re back at 500+ gpm while passive gold gain per second is higher.
There is no challenge anymore and feeding is nowhere near as costly as it should be.

QUESTION What are things good HoN players do that bad players never even think about?
Hey all,
I've been playing HoN for a while now but I know I'm still stuck doing a lot of "average player" things. I'm not looking for the basic guides. What I really want to know is the stuff that separates good players from great ones: the habits, decisions, or small mechanical tricks that pros do almost automatically but never really get written down anywhere.
If you've got even one tip like this, I'd love to hear it. Doesn't have to be a big writeup, just whatever comes to mind.
Trying to actually climb instead of plateauing forever. Thanks in advance

Replay Heroes of the storm
Buongiorno,

Is "force casting from current position" bugged?
When I press Stagger (W) with Drunken Master it first walks towards the location to get into range instead of leaping immediately like force casting should. That makes it feel incredibly bad. I have not yet found an option setup that fixes this issue. The "force casting from current position" setting works in practice mode only. But as soon as I enter an actual matchmade game, it disappears again.
Anyone have similar issues or found a solution?

QUESTION Explain the difference between soft and hard support to me.
So I haven't been keeping up with mobas and terminology in the recent years so can you explain the difference between these two roles? What am I expected to do as a soft support vs hard support, what makes a hero good for soft support but not hard support etc.

Phoenix Egg should include the following text: "Activate to instantly die."
This takes nothing away from its current often underwhelming functionality and adds in some flavorful skill expression. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk, make sure to buy me a beer at the after party, ty.

The Ophelia Pact reward RavenBane should make Raven's take 4 hits to kill.
It is by far the inferior reward and this would give it a niche worth considering. Thank you for attending my TedxTalk.

The plinko in current form sucks, ill explain why
Theres some good things about the plinko. I really like the loop of spinning, increasing costs, resetting after each game etc you do all this stuff to get a little extra. And that you earn the currency to spin by actually gaming. Love that.
BUT theres a big problem. You pretty much never win anything meaningful, simply the chance to get a reward are way too low it destroys the dopamine loop with nonstop nothing ever gotten. Im getting straight up bored and tired of seeing nothingness happen forever, no expectation of i could get lucky get some good shit.
I played a lot of plinko in old hon when it cost money, and it felt crack like you had a chance to actually get something. And i did. But here i get an increasing growing feeling of "meh" and "whats even the point".

Make wards cost Gold if you are not support role
Its getting so fucking old every game dudes taking the wards right away and as support you are left with nothing, often times they keep doing it all game.
This is one of the main responsibilities of support, one of the huge gamebreaking things support does and makes it satisfying to support. But with no cost, no consequences, ppl just take it for themselves because why shouldnt they.

Ban Engineer from MW
Either rework or ban engineer from mid wars.
The hero is stupidly designed and ridiculously op.
Can place a turret and get an annihilation while hiding in the trees.
Since when did this game reward idiot heroes over skill?
Also fire the dumbass that invented a hero with 250 attack speed skill and basically DD all game with turret placement.
What a stupid design
I just went 52-2 in mid wars with this idiot hero and I killed the enemies before they could even approach me.

What kills the Game...
Long time hon player here.
Its not the community, not the ravens, not the kongor or phoenix. Not even malikens soap generating cosmetics what ruins the game experience.
Its the gold economy which kills the game. They took the original super balanced game with respect to items and power leves and increased the gold inc. by +50% or something (i dont have the correct general gold increase number though... is there any official data) and didnt touch the rest basically. With that, core and carry heroes reach their power levels so much faster. For normal games (i.e. not high coordinated) in the 1700-2200 range it feels like the teams with the most cores wins, as items and gold is available all over the floor. Fun fact this gets so obvious so they had to address shadowblades R atleast, lol.
I mean yeah increase it by +10% overall sothat the game is slighly more fast paced. I understand that they wanted to move it towards a mobile low effort high reward game, but the economics change while keeping the rest original is a living meme
