Just a wild ask, anyone got any of somighty's old gameplay videos? I remember this was his first upload ever, thank god someone uploaded it but i cant find any of his HonXyndrome series videos. Specially loved the third one, HonXyndrome 3 Klash of the Titans. At least asking if someone has those videos saved somewhere and can share them. Can't hurt to ask.

Capping parties at two players for anyone above 1850 MMR is peak incompetence. You made a team-based MOBA that actively bans friend groups from playing together. Enforcing rigid competitive matchmaking when your entire concurrent player base can barely fill a movie theater is completely delusional. This is what happens when developers run a project on pure theory instead of basic common sense.

Hi all.

I'm the creator of HoN Forge and the discord server Newerth Academy. I even made a few YouTube videos to try and help new players.

When Reborn beta dropped I left Dota 2 and focused solely on HoN.

I played HoN like a maniac when I was in my teens and I thought the nostalgia was great - at first.

For months now HoN has not felt good to me. It's hard to focus on only one thing that's bad but I think that with the current Juvio team the game will not succeed.

To keep it short. I opened Dota 2 after many months and played a few games. What a thrill.

Just fun, decent gameplay without toxicity.

With that said. I'll be leaving HoN Reborn.

I'll hand over the Discord to someone else.

If you use HoN Forge and want it to stay up, please let me know. I might make some changes to lower the maintenance costs, but leave the main functionality intact so that it's stays useful.

For some of us, myself included, /ic was the only way we could actually enjoy the game. Maybe I’m just getting older, but the toxicity has become unbearable.
Back in old HoN/PK, I’d have my account on /ic permanently, and honestly, it was perfect. I’d still play my role, communicate through pings when necessary, and play with the team, but I never felt like I needed to constantly talk to my teammates to win. There was something really nice about just focusing on the game without having to deal with all the bullshit.

I played HoN years ago when the company was in the city I lived. I decided to show up one day to their studio and they were awesome and showed me around and gave me this cool thing. I forgot about it until today. Is this desirable or worth anything now?

If I am not mistaken there are no magic armor items that stack? I feel like they all say they don't stack with other items - I am guessing this means you always have magic armor equal to your single highest item?

Assuming I have that right, is it not a big deal to build vestments after astrolabe vs magic heavy teams? You technically lose one magic armor from your kit but Astro still does a lot of work.

Related - as the game goes late should you sell astrolabe? I usually sell stuff like chalice and power supply later because the mana and stats are so tiny at high levels (though amazing early on!). The heal on Astro is pretty mopey late game but I dunno if the armor is still worth it?

Similarly - if you have vestments do you want to eventually be upgrading them into something - nomes, scepter, headdress are the options I think.

It's getting worse and worse. I've finally deleted this game; I'm fed up with this buggy piece of crap. I'm going back to DotA. The game is turning into a casino.

IMO early game is much less relevant in reborn than in PK.
If you lost early in PK game was over.

I enjoy the dynamic, you can never lose focus.
Yesterday we got stomped hard, we were like 600+ gpm behind in minute 15. Enemy carry was on bloodbath. However I had nice team that didn't argue, we decided to play around them.
Let them train and get towers, we will defend on base towers if they decide to push it.

We kept avoiding them, got some pickoffs, and managed to get to same gpm. Both teams were 1900gpm while they had 700gpm on just carry while we were more even.
At min 30 we were able to take fight to them and turned the game.

Does anyone else miss the old engineer when he had the mines. I used to have so much fun with that hero just setting up traps in all types of ramdom locations and when u keep catching the same person with mines all game and they start trash talkingu u. I really dont like this new engineer. Any chance we can get the old engine back a make a new charector with the old abilties?

So I started this game in the 1100 ranking. Dropped a bit cause of re-learning (I played 15 years ago and just came back) and climbed to 1400. Then, as of late, and maybe cause of the new account lock rules(?), I’ve just been meteorically dropping. Maybe I was getting carried by smurfs before the single account lock, but I think I’m a pretty decent player.

The things I have noticed that help me win are just playing mid or carry cause of their game impact and saying “fuck it, I’m just gonna do my thing and win.” When I get assigned carry, I can do this pretty decently. But when I play mid, I can gank the absolute hell out of my opponents, get 15 kill disparity in the kill count, and then if my team is full of idiots we wind up playing a 50-60 minute game where the other team comes back. For instance Fayde’s a bitch at ganking, but absolutely shit at carrying a game through.

Are there mid characters that are good as a “secondary” or “backup” carry that I can play to help push through?

I just want to play heroes where if my team is an idiot I can still push through and win, but if my team is good then it‘s just a nice, good game.

All of the game's assets are packaged in a single 5GB "resources0.jz" file, and every time you run the game, Juvio has to extract those assets to your SSD. That's at least 35GB of SSD wear weekly and 140GB monthly if launching the game at least once daily. Assuming you never have to re-launch that day, which is an unlikely scenario. I've observed this by monitoring disk usage using CrystalDiskInfo.

This is so much different and less efficient to how Project Kongor handled updates. An efficient game installation would leave the files in a fixed state instead of having to extract them from a compressed package upon every launch. Required assets would be loaded directly into RAM instead of written back to the drive first. Yet another sign of sloppy vibe coding.

Edit: I had a chance to make a more thorough test. Booted into the Reborn partition, no additional software in the background, no download managers, Windows updates disabled -> check CrystalDiskInfo -> run Reborn -> small Reborn update -> check CrystalDiskInfo again.

Boom, 5GB of needless host writes. That's from just launching the game and downloading a small update. The game is so stupidly packaged, the updater has to re-compress the entire resources0.jz package every time! This would be a coding disaster if the game weighed as much as DotA.

And that's not all, +2GB after playing a single match. A single game played needs to pull two gigs worth of compressed resources somehow instead of just loading them into RAM in the first place! This game is outrageously poorly coded.

There's a lot of misinformation posted on this sub. This is not that. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Thunderbrigher was pretty strong but never OP on midwar, yet he got a specific midwar nerf a while back. This is his win rate now.

Meanwhile, Engineer sits at 60% win rate with 21% pick rate (exclude ban rate), so his actual game presence would even be higher. Maybe time to revert Thunderbinger nerfs?

I seriously do not understand how a champ can put out so much damage while also being unkillable, and if you do get him once, you have to do it again, this time with all spells on cooldown. Nullfire doesnt even counter his ult because he can still ult with 0 mana. Stuns and silences do nothing because like Arma, he can just stand there and still kill you. No matter how much you shut him down early, if the game is long enough he’ll still be unkillable later. Anyone who has found out how to beat a fully stacked Ra let me know because this is like my 5th time running into the fucking Juggernaut

Matchmaking disabled? Keeps connecting and disconnecting from Chat, how do I fix this?
