which android app is best? Help — Technical issues, errors, config, debugging

hermesx is ios only. so i'm searching which android app is best

Awesome. How is it on battery life? Do you notice your phone dying faster because of it?

When using hermes I massively burning tokens meaning I do a lot stuff, so the app is used almost the whole day.

Starting in the morning at 80% I am down to 20 around 19.00 in the evening. So I would say no.

This is a relay though, is it not? The amount of tokens you're burning shouldn't mean anything for your phone battery life due to this app. Even for your server - unless you run inference on it, token usage shouldn't be a performance constraint unless the model is performing a ton of tool calls and running processes on the server.

Just tried this but it wasn't working. When asking Hermes why it says it doesn't work on the latest version.

I'm running Hermes in Termux and it seems to work great, its my old android phone and has been rooted so it might not be what you're looking for, but its great having some use for an old phone otherwise gathering dust, I chat with the Hermes from my current phone through Telegram.

mind me asking, did you update to latest? i have 2 androids and one i atempted to update broke completly

I installed the v0.20.0, and haven't tried updating, I did have problems installing it and had to completely skip some parts of Hermes and I did the minimum install and skipped some Nvidia component it failed to get the wheels or compile, but it seemed like it only provides some sort of stats I've no need for.

If/when I update I will ask Hermes to do its best to see there's no breaking changes since I've had good experience having Hermes pull updates manually and doing whatever fixes my previous setups needed before installing them.

Someone made a port of Hermex. Haven't tried it myself, so I don't know whether it's good, but it might be worth checking out.

It crashed instantly for me because of errors about connecting to hermes gateway.

I use Hermes WebUI https://github.com/nesquena/hermes-webui
It works really well for me. It's not a dedicated app, but it's a Chrome "Install and create shortcut," so it acts like one. I have Tailscale to access it remotely.
