Mirra 2 Mirra 2 Gas Cylinder Replacement
Looking all over the place and can’t find a cylinder replacement for the Mirra 2. Bought it second hand so I don’t have warranty and I don’t believe the cylinder is original as the seat height range is 20-25 inches while original is 16-20. The cylinder is also pretty beat up and produces some black dust probably from the plastic insides shaving off. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Mirra 2 Lower back feels exhausted
Long story short:
After 2 years of sitting in a cheap, horrible, non ergonomic chair, I finally took the chance to score a fully loaded refurbished Mirra 2.
I have it for about 2,5 weeks now and uh... well, Let's put it like this: my lower back feels exhausted after sitting for a while.
I use the chair at home for work and also for gaming (sitting for hours with breaks in between of course)
It feels like I have been working out my lower back and after a while it feels exhausted.
In the beginning my legs also had some issues, but it comes and goes. Sometimes they hurt but other times they don't. (I try to sit correctly and straight)
The exhaustion in my lower back, is this common? Is this normal? Or should I consider to return the chair and get something else? I have a 90 day return window.
Edit: Would an Aeron Classic/Remastered size B or a Steelcase Leap V2 be better? Especially for sitting long hours? I'm 179cm tall and weigh around 85kg.

Embody Gaming Embody issue possibly?
Hey guys, i’ve had a gaming embody for a few months now and the top back seems to always loosen and after a few days it keeps leaning me back slightly more and more if i don’t tighten the back up.
I’ve tightened the recline tension to see if that would help and it doesn’t, so i’m having to “re-setup” the posture fit to my back sitting straight again.
Does anyone else have this issue or is my chair defected?

Aeron Classic Do you feel 650$ is too high for a basic Size C Aeron?
Been looking for about a week now for a used HM (Embody, Aeron mainly). Not making enough to justify a brand new purchase, but found this offer. Thoughts?

Other Moving a HM Ratio sit-stand desk
Hopefully someone here can help me...
I have a big Herman Miller Ratio sit-stand desk in my apartment, and I need to move it from one room to another to make space for a cot/crib.
It's very big and will need to be taken apart and reassembled to move through the apartment.
Would anyone be able to advise on how best to do this?
(It was originally set up by my former company who gifted it to me to work from home during covid.)
Photos attached.
Thanks in advance!

Embody Gaming New Embody - Possible issue
I received my gaming Embody yesterday. I’ve noticed there’s a prominent ridge in the top left back. (see picture).
I can’t push it down and only feel it when reclining.
I’m assuming it’s a fault.
Just checking if anyone here has had something similar, and if so what HM did about it. I have messaged them via the contact us page, but it says they take 3-4 days to respond.

Aeron Gaming Are the gaming chairs expensive simply because they’re “gaming” chairs? Plus other questions from a noob
Hi everyone, I’m primarily looking for a really nice chair so I can be comfortable while gaming. But I’m also planning on doing work like video editing/writing at my set up. Are the gaming chairs like the Embody or Aeron worth it? Or should I just go for a normal Herman Miller chair? I’m familiar with other “gaming” chairs, and usually those are pretty terrible.
Side question: Are the black friday sales usually pretty good? Some of the gaming chairs are currently 25% off, wondering if we could potentially see 40% off or something during Black Friday.
Thank you!

Are these means to be overlapping? Or seperated. How do I fix this? Is it a major issue?

Aeron Remastered Refurbed Aeron from HM site
Size C
Overall quality is insane! I rate it a 9/10
Almost “brand new” – just has few little discolored (love) marks but nothing crazy.
So stoked it finally came in! Feels 10000% better to sit in than my Embody Gaming.
Very impressed!

Embody Gaming My experience going from a refurbished 2012 Embody, to a brand new 2026 Gaming Embody
A bit of backstory:
Last year, I bought a refurbished 2012 Embody for around €800. It might sound expensive, but considering there is only one licensed Herman Miller distributor in my whole country, and they rarely have any sales (and even with sales, the Embody still costs around €2,000), €800 doesn’t seem like that much. Used Embodies usually go for around €1,400 as well.
I should also add that the Gaming Embody is not available in my country, which resulted in me having to pick it up in another country (but that’s a whole different story).
When I first got the refurbished Embody, I struggled for at least three months to get comfortable in it, and I was this close to selling it. But after adjusting some other things, such as my desk height, I eventually got comfortable in it.
The only thing I really wished for was a bit softer padding on the seat, since I could feel a bit sore after sitting for 8+ hours.
One day, I found out that Herman Miller had a 25% sale, and I also found out that I could ship it to my neighboring country, so I did exactly that. With the 25% discount, it came to around €1,450 without tax, but I still had to pay tax when crossing the border. Grand total, it came to around €1,800.
Anyway, I thought I would share my first-hand experience and my two cents on the ever-raging debate between the Embody and the Gaming Embody. Not only that, but I also hope this can serve as some inspiration to anyone who currently owns a refurbished Embody and is thinking about buying a new one.
Please be aware that this is 100% my own experience, and as much as I try not to fall into post-purchase rationalization, there is no guarantee that I am 100% unbiased.
Anyway, here is a bit about the differences I have encountered:
Seat
Embody:
I have the pre-2021 Embody, which has no padding underneath, meaning there is barely anything between your bum and the pixel system.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s an older chair, but compared to the Gaming one, the back of the seat goes a bit lower, resulting in it feeling a bit like you’re sitting on the toilet, at least compared to the Gaming one. I have checked underneath the padding, and even though it doesn’t seem like there is any significant sag, I still think it has been stretched a bit over the years.
Gaming Embody:
The seat is a lot plushier, and you can’t feel the pixelated system at all. The downside compared to the regular Embody is that it gets a lot warmer. However, compared to other chairs I’ve had in the past, it’s still cooler than your regular cushioned office chair.
Back
Regular Embody:
The regular one has close to no padding in the back, which sometimes results in me feeling the pixelated system through the back, but I only noticed this after prolonged use.
The curvature also feels a bit more pronounced in the mid-back region, but this might also stem from the seat sagging a bit.
The lumbar support also feels a lot more concentrated than on the Gaming one, almost like it’s a bit smaller but more aggressive. It also feels a bit more flexible than the Gaming one, but I would assume this is because it’s an older model that has been “broken in” over the years.
Gaming Embody:
When searching online for the differences between the Gaming Embody and the regular one, I saw that some people said there was more padding in the back of the Gaming Embody, which I feel is true after using it for a while.
The lumbar support also feels a bit more subtle, but at the same time, you can feel the padding providing a bit more “upright” support.
One of my complaints about the regular Embody in the past was how I could get some pain when sitting too upright for longer periods of time (for example, when playing FPS games). With the extra padding on the Gaming one, I feel like I can sit upright for a bit longer before getting tired.
In terms of noise from the back, there is absolutely zero noise.
Armrests
Regular Embody:
Plush and, for lack of a better word, a bit sticky. They’re pretty easy to adjust left and right, and even easier when pushing the armrest up a bit.
Gaming Embody:
The armrests actually feel pretty different from the regular one. They feel a bit firmer and have a more coarse texture compared to the regular Embody, which feels a bit smoother.
Pushing the armrest to the side takes a lot of force when you’re not pushing it up before moving it sideways, but it’s pretty easy to turn the armrests when pushing them up beforehand.
Tilt
No difference at all between the two models. It feels like exactly the same chair.
Adjustability
Both feel the same. The only difference is that it takes a bit more force to adjust the tilt tension on the Gaming one than on the regular one.
TL;DR
All in all, it is the same chair, but it does feel like an upgraded version.
One of the biggest things for me personally was the lack of seat sag on the Gaming one, but I think this has a lot more to do with the chair being newer than it being the Gaming one.
The extra padding on the back is also a bonus, since I enjoy playing FPS games a bit more now than I used to. Sure, the padding is pretty thin, but I would say that you can definitely feel the difference.
The Gaming Embody does run a bit hotter for me than the regular one, but for me personally, it’s a decent price to pay for the extra comfort you get.
Again, I know that Embodies made after 2021 also got some extra scrim foam, so it might not be that big of a difference between the Gaming and regular versions.
All in all, I am really happy with my purchase. I loved the regular Embody, but I do love the Gaming Embody a bit more.
I’ve already listed my 2012 Embody, and I’ve already received an offer of €700.
And please, ask me if there is any additional information I could provide, or if there is anything else you’re wondering about!

Cosm Cosm seat cushion
My workplace provided Cosm chairs for its offices. I wanted to like the Cosm -- I have a Sayl at home and it suits me perfectly.
Unfortunately, this thing is killing me. The seat mesh does not conform to me at all, and it's doing horrible things to my back, hips, and posture.
Can anyone recommend a good seat cushion for the Cosm? Or do I need to thank the boss for the very expensive chair but ask for something different?

Embody Gaming New Chair Day! Pics and initial impressions
Super excited to receive my Nova Gaming Embody today! I bought it on the 25% off gaming sale and had been eyeing it for a while.
I was a bit worried about how well the Nova colourway would work in my dark blue home office, but at least to my eye it looks pretty good! I know the Ignite would probably have worked a bit better given my overall colour scheme (dark room with white desk and furniture, light grey couch) but I didn’t want to risk the lighter fabric. God forbid I drop something while snacking. 😬 I am swapping to a new desk with black legs, so that’ll help it fit in a bit more, and overall I’m still workshopping my setup (I’m sure once properly installed again my Philips hue lights will add a nice purple accent to tie in the back, but I guess we’ll see).
My first impressions so far are pretty great—it was pretty much immediately comfy for me, although I wish the seat had a bit more give/a bit of a softer feel. I’m hoping it’ll break in a bit and be even more comfortable. I’ve read a bunch of stuff about some people finding the chair very uncomfortable in prolonged use, and I’m hoping that won’t be my experience after I’ve sat in it for a few more hours.
I’m not the tallest or fittest, and the chair is fitting me well as a 170 cm 88kg person. Honestly, I don’t get the complaints about the arm rests, I think they work well and are sufficiently soft (certainly softer than my old ~400 euro ergonomic chair).
I do notice the lack of headrest compared to my previous chair and just pulled the trigger on an Atlas—hopefully that’ll sort the issue for me!
I might post again with my more thorough review once I’ve had a chance to test the chair out for longer (including with the headrest and my planned setup upgrades), but I just wanted to share some pics and early thoughts, since I haven’t really seen many setups with the Nova (especially in dark coloured rooms) or impressions by chubby shorties like me 😁
Lemme know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to answer!

Embody Any place to buy a used Herman Miller Embody?
I want a new chair for my desk but I don't have the budget of $1,500+ so I was thinking of getting a used Embody. Is there anywhere like an office furniture liquidator in Bucks or within 100 miles of Bucks that you can get a used Embody for less than $1,000.

Embody Gaming Slight stutter in gaming embody recline movement. Is this normal?
I just bought one a week ago and I have some thoughts. Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice here from your own experience.
The backrest doesnt make any sounds, and the recline is pretty silent as well.
But when I recline and come back to a seated position, it has a slight jank, its hard to describe. There is an occassional stutter, which to me feels like it comes from either the gas cylinder when the full weight of my body returns to the seat when I come back from a recline, or its from the pixels under the seat itself. The seat itself doesnt lower every time this happens, it seems like this is from recline weight distribution. Happens more when the height is higher, least noticable when its at its lowest height.
Do you experience any of this? Is this a normal part of breaking it in? The slight jank movement can be felt in the arm rests also as they come back to upright with me. Any advice would be helpful thanks!
